Bill Maher Calls Out Arianna Huffington, Hollywood’s ‘F**king Hypocrites’ on the Environment

HBO late night host Bill Maher slammed Hollywood environmentalists like George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and, Ben Affleck for their hypocrisy during Monday’s episode of his “Club Random” podcast, including his guest, Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington.

When Huffington piously proclaimed that “Growing inequalities have gotten infinitely worse.” Maher struck back saying “Well, mostly because of you.”

With a bit of pique, Huffington shot back “No, mostly because of you!” She added, “Mostly because of you flying on private planes.”

But Maher wasn’t pushed off his point.

“I can stand being a bad environmentalist because we all really are,” Maher continued. “I cannot stand being a hypocrite. And every single person who can fly in a private jet, including you, including rrr, I love these people. But we all do it.”

Maher noted that the whole elite class that brays about the environment, then they fly around the world on private jets and own multiple homes as they spew more emissions in a year than most Americans do in a lifetime, are destroying their own case for the planet.

“It’s irresistible and so that’s again, something that looks bad to someone who’s in the middle or leaning right when lefties are fucking hypocrites,” Maher said. “So, I just really wanted to make that case. And we all do it on whatever our level is. I mean, if you drive a car to work but you could take the bus, you’re just doing it on a budget. I’m doing it like a baller. Eat that bitches, it’s so funny.”

Huffington then quickly changed the subject to attack Elon Musk.

This is not the first time Maher has criticized climate change activists, He has made these points several times over the last few years.

In August of 2021, he was also seen tackling environmentalists who fly on private jets, and blasted them as “selfish” for telling everyone else to forego modern conveniences even as they indulge them.

Only a few months ago he was also heard taking a swipe at Hollywood climate change bellowers for advocating about reducing carbon even as they flay around the world on private jets.

Also, last December, for instance, Maher took a stick to Generation Z and told them to “shut the fuck up” for attacking everyone over climate change, even as they essentially do nothing to live up to their own claimed convictions.

Maher: SVB Collapse, Inflation Are ‘the Result’ of Government Spending

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is “connected” to and “the result of” the massive deficit spending during the coronavirus pandemic because the fact that “uncle sugar was very generous during COVID,” is “a lot of what caused the inflation.” Because “You cannot put $6 trillion that you don’t have in people’s pockets and not expect some inflation.” And this inflation caused the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates, which subsequently led to SVB’s downfall.

Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang stated that recent interest rate hikes caused the collapse of SVB because of how much money the bank had invested in buying Treasury bills and the rate hikes made Treasury bills risky.

Maher then said, “And interest rates spiked because of inflation, that’s why they had to — okay, so, when uncle sugar was very generous during COVID, that was the result of that. That’s what caused the inflation — a lot of what caused the inflation. You cannot put $6 trillion that you don’t have in people’s pockets and not expect some inflation. That’s what caused this rate [hike] and so, it’s all connected.”

Russell Brand roasts MSNBC

Russell Brand has been ruffling some feathers.

The Hollywood actor turned podcaster is no stranger to telling it like it is, but his latest appearance on Bill Maher’s show truly solidified his spot as one of the freer thinkers in the public eye today.

Brand absolutely roasted MSNBC, Pfizer, and Big Pharma to the face of MSNBC analyst John Heilemann — and the result was glorious.

Brand rattles off behind the “Real Time” desk, saying, “It’s disingenuous to claim that the biases exhibited on Fox News are any different from the biases exhibited on MSNBC. It’s difficult to suggest that these corporations operate as anything other than mouthpieces for their affiliate owners in BlackRock and Vanguard.”

He continues, looking directly at Heilemann, “I’ve been on that MSNBC, mate, it was propaganda, it’s nutcrackery.”

Brand then says he’s been on the “Morning Joe” show and called it “absurd.” And the shots keep coming.

He says, “There was no one called Joe there, no one could concentrate, they didn’t understand the basic tenets of journalism, no one was willing to stick up for genuine American heroes like Edward Snowden, and no one was willing to talk about Julian Assange and what he suffered trying to bring real journalism to the American people — and I think to sit within the castle of MSNBC throwing rocks at Fox News is ludicrous.”

Heilemann responds, saying, “I’d like to hear a specific example of an MSNBC correspondent or anchor being on television saying something they knew was false.”

Heilemann seemed satisfied with his retort, but he was sorely mistaken in thinking he had proven a point, as Brand quickly brought up the criticisms of Joe Rogan and ivermectin. He then points out the media said if you got the vaccine, you wouldn’t get COVID.

Brand sat down with Dave Rubin after the showdown and had this to say in reflection: “Why don’t we acknowledge … for the sake of simplicity that there are progressive ways of being a human being and there are traditional ways of being a human being. Neither of those ways are wrong. Why don’t we allow one another to express ourselves how we want to within the obvious bounds of consent?”

He adds, “And then perhaps we can organize different alliances so that we can organize around the systems of centralized power that will elsewise continue to dominate and annihilate.”
