AOC Simped for TikTok, and Walked Right Into an Unbelievable Corruption Scandal

Recently, the House of Representatives held the first in a series of congressional hearings targeting TikTok and the social media giant’s subservience to communist China. That led to some rather interesting admissions, including the fact that engineers in China (and by proxy, the Chinese government) do have access to the personal information of millions and millions of Americans.

Without a good answer for that massive security issue, TikTok’s CEO borrowed a favorite strategy from the left. Namely, he claimed that any criticism of his company and the Chinese government is xenophobia. He also refused to comment on the Uyghur genocide because he was bought and paid for by the CCP.

But the other side of the coin has been Democrats actually defending TikTok. While some have shown a rare sense of bipartisanship in condemning the company, progressive firebrands like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Jamal Bowman have decided to openly simp.

For her part, Ocasio-Cortez put out her “first” TikTok extolling the wonders of the Chinese spy operation.

A new report is casting doubt on Ocasio-Cortez’s motivation, though. According to Fox News, TikTok’s parent company, Bytedance, gave the Hispanic Congressional Caucus Foundation $150,000 back in December. Guess who happens to sit on the advisory board of that very same foundation? That would be Ocasio-Cortez, who now finds herself using her official position to defend a Chinese company that just so happened to give her caucus foundation a bunch of money. What a coincidence, right?

Bowman has similar questions surrounding his vehement support of TikTok being that he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, which Bytedance has also been bankrolling through its non-profit wing. Many other Democrats also sit on the boards of the two foundations in question.

Apparently, far-left progressives like Ocasio-Cortez are willing to sell Americans’ personal data to China and all it costs is a few million dollars in donations over the last few years. So much for fighting for the little guy. Once again, Democrats have been exposed as being the exact opposite of what they present themselves to be.

Ocasio-Cortez, Bowman, and the rest still defending TikTok are as inside the beltway as it gets. They don’t care about the working class despite their claims otherwise. They care about living the high life. That was made obvious by Ocasio-Cortez’s corruption scandal involving her acceptance of illegal gifts to go to the Met Gala.

The House committee going after TikTok should add these donations to its list of things to investigate. This situation stinks to high-heaven, and having congressional members take the side of a Chinese spy front should raise everyone’s eyebrows.

WATCH: Libs of TikTok Visits Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the Capitol Building After Hearing Lies

In early February, the US House of Representatives held a hearing surrounding censorship by social media companies that produced several viral moments. One of those surrounding the “questioning” of former Twitter flack Yoel Roth by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And by questioning, I mean lathering up.

During the exchange, the congresswoman didn’t bother to stand up for the people who had their voices unfairly silenced by sites like Twitter because why would a Democrat care about that? Instead, she used her time to go completely off-topic and attack Chiya Raichik, also known as Libs of TikTok.

Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Raichik had lied about Boston Children’s Hospital performing hysterectomies as part of “gender-affirming care” for “transgender” youth. In reality, Raichik had multiple tapes of hospital employees admitting the procedures were available. Further, the hospital had put out a video itself (prior to all the attention) advertising that fact. RedState reported on that almost a year ago.

In other words, Ocasio-Cortez was lying through her teeth.

Notice how confident Ocasio-Cortez was. She’s so tough, right? She speaks her mind and doesn’t take any nonsense! No one scares her!

Well, that laughable narrative took another hit on Thursday after Raichik showed up at the Capitol Building to visit with Ocasio-Cortez. Here’s how that went.

Ocasio-Cortez was apparently in the office, yet refused to come out. Her handler answered the door and said “gimmie a minute” only to never return. Does that strike you as the behavior of someone with courage?

This is what Democrats always do. They talk a big game, but when they are put in a position to actually have to defend their lies and lunacy, they run and hide like the cowards they are. Why? Because they know they don’t have the goods to it up. They know that they can’t defend their viewpoints and the assertions they make. Better to hide behind a compliant press and the rules of a House hearing than actually speak directly to the person they slandered.

Ocasio-Cortez hates Raichik and is willing to lie about her for one reason: She exposes the insanity of the left in their own words. She takes what they believe and lays it out for everyone to see, doesn’t add anything to it, and lets the chips fall. That’s what makes the Libs of TikTok account so important. The mask is off, and it’s not going back on.
