New Data on Americans Fleeing Dem Party Just Put a Stake Through Their Midterm Dreams

June 27, 2022 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

We’ve been talking about a lot of the indicators that there’s going to be a huge tsunami for Republicans in the midterms.

We reported earlier how Joe Biden’s numbers just took another nosedive to their lowest ever. Bill Maher detailed on Friday how and why people are fleeing the Democrats, as we saw with the formerly very reliable Democratic district for decades in South Texas that went Republican Mayra Flores. In addition to the economy, people are moving away from the Democrats because of their moving to the radical left.

But there’s more evidence that the Democrats are about to have their heads handed to them — more than one million voters have switched their party affiliation to become Republicans over the past year, according to Fox.

The GOP is benefiting most in the suburbs of large and medium cities, where voters who supported President Biden in 2020 are struggling with inflation and growing increasingly critical of Democratic social issues, according to an analysis from The Associated Press.

Roughly 1.7 million Americans have changed their party affiliation over the past 12 months. Two-thirds of those have gone to the GOP, while just 630,000 have switched to the Democratic Party, according to the report.

That should be sounding big booming alarm bells for Democrats. If they don’t see the huge move happening here and do something to adjust, they’re going to get pounded. In fact, at this point, I’m not even sure they can do anything. Democrats are toast. People have just had enough of them. And that anger isn’t limited to the folks who actually go to the trouble of switching party affiliation.

However, the response of the Democrats has not been to present policies that would truly improve things. Nor are they re-evaluating their extremism. Rather, they are turning that up, even more, to jack up people’s emotions and create divisions over issues like abortion and Jan. 6. While screaming about Jan. 6, Democrats themselves are attacking the Supreme Court and calling it “illegitimate.” But their effort to distract isn’t working and it may even be backfiring, with people thinking Democrats care more about preserving their power than addressing any of the issues which are hurting Americans now. As we’ve noted, the polls are showing the big bottom-line issues for Americans are still inflation and the economy at 82 and 80 percent. Abortion and Jan. 6 are far down the list.

The bottom four issue ranked the highest for “Low Priority” are:

⬇️ J6
⬇️ Climate Change
⬇️ COVID
⬇️ Abortion

The lowest ranked issues are the entire Democrat Platform for 2022 https://t.co/HD5WlTIFi5

— Tyler Bowyer 🇺🇸 (@tylerbowyer) June 26, 2022

Even Democratic lawmakers are now acknowledging that Biden is slow to act on any of these issues.

“I support the president’s efforts, but we need a bolder vision and faster action,” Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., wrote in an op-ed for the New York Times earlier in June.

“To meet the moment, Mr. Biden should convene an emergency task force empowered to lower prices and address shortages. We need an all-out mobilization, not just a few ad hoc initiatives reacting to headlines,” he added.

But it may be too late to save them now because it’s not just Biden — it’s the rest of the Democrats that Americans are holding responsible for the mess, as well.

Bill Maher Drives a Stake Through Leftism as the Democrat Party Abandons American Voters

June 26, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

As is his increasing custom, on Friday night, Bill Maher skewered the Left. And he must’ve enlarged the group of SJWs calling for his #cancellation.

During HBO’s Real Time, Bill brought up the idea of an attorney as related to the Johnny Depp trial. The host posed that political leaders are supposed to essentially be lawyers — they serve as our advocates. He went on to drive a stake through the Party of the Donkey, for all the people it no longer represents.

A partial recap of the aggrieved and unrepresented:

Formerly Democratic Hispanics. As an example, a south Texas congressional district — which had long sided with Dems — recently “stopped seeing [the Democratic candidate] as their lawyer.” Therefore, a seat in the House of Representatives was flipped.

“[The Latino residents’] message to [Dems] was, ‘I’m an American now. I’m here. Be my lawyer, not the lawyer for the migrants showing up in my backyard.’”

Additionally:

“Every month, I see a new poll reporting how much Latinos despise the woke term ‘Latinx.’ It’s about as popular with them as a reboot of Speedy Gonzalez. Even the country’s oldest Latino civil rights group came out against it. Yet, AOC keeps defending it, saying, ‘Gender is fluid. Language is fluid.’ Yes, and Latino voters are fluid.”

Asian Americans, “whose support for Democrats is down 16 points since the last election.” Joe Biden’s party has eliminated advanced educational programs in which Asian students often excel.

Poor Americans who couldn’t afford college. “President Biden wants to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student debt,” Bill pointed out. “Okay, but the poorer two-thirds of American kids who don’t get a college degree are going to say, ‘Why should the people who didn’t go to college and make less money subsidize the people who did go and make more? … You’re not my lawyer.’”

Straight Americans. (Vastly gay) West Hollywood’s guaranteed basic income initiative “had to be suspended because it was unconstitutional. They set up a program where 25 residents were to get $1,000 for 18 months — but only if you identified as LGBT-the-rest-of-it. … Because no one in West Hollywood will hire a gay person?”

The sexually traditional, who still believe in “mothers.” “For decades,” Bill noted, “liberals have said, ‘If only men could get pregnant, [abortion] wouldn’t even be an issue.’”

The comedian planted seeds of outrage with his sexual-identity bit:

“When the wokey end of the progressive spectrum talk about abortion now, they shy away from [the] word ‘women.’ And prefer terms like ‘birthing people‘ and ‘people who menstruate.’ Because somewhere, there’s a trans man who’s pregnant, and I say good for him. And I’ll be looking for his story somewhere in a future issue of Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Oh, Democrats, let’s take the first [darn] word a human animal understands — ‘mama‘ — and replace it with something best understood by four (Marxist revolutionary Leon) Trotsky-ites at Berkeley.”

“As with all these issues,” Bill wrapped up, “the wavering voter is saying to her lawyer — the Democratic Party — ‘Hey, so happy for you that you have so many other clients and that you care so much about their problems. … But you’re supposed to be my lawyer.”

Language Warning:

If there’s one thing the Johnny Depp trial proved it’s that in this world, you got to have a good lawyer, and @theDemocrats need a few. pic.twitter.com/qHU9a8LsrA

Bill is right — and he himself is symbolic of the shift underway. As Elon Musk — who’s now leaning toward support for Ron DeSantis — recently tweeted, the Right hasn’t moved nearly so much as has the Left. In an attempt at progress, the DNC has run ahead, not realizing American voters aren’t so keen on picking up the pace:

Surely to Bill’s dismay, the old-school liberal is now practically conservative:

The midterms are coming up; what should we expect? Given all the above, Democrat dominance isn’t likely in the cards.

Bill Maher Waxes Political About One Thing Trump Could Do to Beat Biden 'So Easy' in 2024

June 25, 2022 by Mike Miller Leave a Comment

HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher has enjoyed a mostly positive run on RedState for a minute. Readers (and writers), while somewhat surprised by many of the acerbic liberal comedian and political pundit’s takes, have by and large responded positively to much of the Maher stuff we’ve covered. For example:

Bill Maher Takes a Flamethrower to ‘Sad Saga’ of WaPo: ‘Democracy Dies in Dumbness’

Bill Maher Skewers the NYT Over Kavanaugh Assassination Attempt Coverage While Sunday Shows Prove His Point

Free Speech Means Sometimes Explaining Jokes to Idiots, Like Bill Maher Just Did

Easy to agree with Maher on the above, right? Let’s jump into Maher’s comments on the 2024 election — specifically a Trump v. Biden race — and see where that takes us. As reported by Fox News, Maher on Friday’s episode conceded that Trump could win “so easy” in 2024.

The operative word is could.

As Maher sees it, that “so easy” is conditioned on Trump doing — make that, not doing — one thing: Attempting to relitigate the 2020 election. As Maher also sees it, Trump is incapable of doing so.

As transcribed by Fox:

And I just thought, you know, if Trump could just let go of the election, which he can’t, he can win this so easy because he can win just on Drag Queen Story Hour.

Maher then proceeded to shred The Donald, while begrudgingly praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a 2024 alternative. Referring to a recent New Hampshire poll showing DeSantis up by two points over Trump in a GOP primary matchup, Maher mocked: “That’s right, Donnie, he beat you.”

Yet again, Maher thinks Trump could win in 2024, but…

Again, if he could just let go of the election, but at this point, you know, he’s just like a hotel room that smells at some point you just want a new room, you know what I mean?

And DeSantis, I mean, he’s just more… is more vibrant, if you like people who don’t lose elections and, you know.

Podcast host Katie Herzog agreed with Maher’s assessment.

And he’s also not plagued by scandal the way that Trump is. He’s a much stronger candidate. The Jan. 6 hearings have been very compelling to watch, but a little part of me thinks this might actually be bad for the Democrats, because if Trump is too weak to win the Republican nomination, it’s going to be DeSantis, and DeSantis could beat Biden.

As I transcribed the above two quotes, I thought: Here we have two adamant Democrats, both of whom are able to objectively analyze the potential candidacies of the two top Republicans in most 2024 polls. One might completely agree or completely disagree with either of their observations, but how refreshing, I mused, that both were capable of relative objectivity — a quality sorely lacking in politics, these days.

And  finally, this from Maher:

Anybody could beat Biden. Trump might be the one guy who can lose to Biden. With DeSantis, you’re right because he’s a winner.

Argue amongst yourselves in the comment section, but please don’t break the furniture.

The bottom line:

In the eyes of some, objectivity bites. Even when it’s in their best interests to learn from it.

'Out of Gas': Fed-up Service Station Owner Protests High Gas Prices by Refusing to Sell It

June 20, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

Are you sick of high gas prices? Massachusetts resident Ren Gladu is. And Ren can do something about it — kind of.

Ren is the proprietor of Ren’s Mobile, a small-town gas and service station that caters to a college crowd. Around the block is Amherst College, the University of Massachusetts is just over a mile away, and Hampshire College is less than a five-mile drive.

Ren’s had it with the skyrocketed cost of fuel. He told the Daily Hampshire Gazette, “This is the biggest ripoff that ever has happened to people in my lifetime.”

Earlier this month, the cost of gas shot north of $4.75. Ren swore he wouldn’t charge anything higher.

Then ExxonMobil upped its price by 20 cents per gallon two days in a row, and that was it for Ren. He bailed out of the petroleum-peddling business altogether, hanging cardboard signs that read “Out of Gas.”

It could spell the end for the Amherst hub, which Ren took over in 1973. Per the Gazette, he’s operated “through the gas lines of the 1970s to the rising retail prices during wars and after hurricanes.” But now he’s had enough.

Prices have certainly soared. Bill Maher recently joked that the CDC recommends wearing blindfolds at the pump so you don’t have a heart attack over the price it costs to fill up.

According to AAA, the national average as of June 20th is $4.98. In Massachusetts, it’s $5.01.

Ren’s trying to stand up for the customer, but he’s been bested by Phoenix gas station owner Jaswiendre Singh. As reported by AZFamily, earlier this month, Jaswiendre was buying fuel for $5.66 a gallon and selling it at a loss for $5.19.

Ren pins his predicament on corporate greed and potential collusion:

“Dealing with Mobil, they don’t think through their pricing policies anymore. I’ve served their product, but I refuse to do it anymore, because they’re only getting richer. … People shouldn’t have to pay these prices to go to work, to go to church, or to do whatever they have to do. It seems like the oil industry is in this together.”

But in an email to the Gazette, ExxonMobil Corp Operations Media Manager Julie King explained it’s out of the company’s hands:

“Service stations are individually owned and price their fuel based on local market competition and other business factors. Prices at the pump are influenced by the price of crude, and wholesale price of products which fluctuate according to demand and supply factors — such as economic conditions and seasonal factors, fuel production, inventory levels, storage and transportation cost.”

To hear Ren tell it, he’s always “tried to keep [his] prices as fair as can be.” Now customers are pulling up and learning there’s no offer…on offer.

“A lot of people are stopping by to offer me their condolences,” he said, “but I actually feel sorry for them because some of them have been my customers for close to 50 years.”

His pity doesn’t appear to be unfounded — he’s just taken away, according to him, quite possibly the best price in town.

Regardless, Ren and all those in Massachusetts may not realize how good they have it.

Let ’em come to California and have a taste:

Bill Maher Blasts the Anti-Free-Speech Fining of Jack Del Rio, Compares It to 'Pee'

June 19, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

Bill Maher continues to prove he isn’t keeping up with the Democrats.

On HBO’s Real Time Friday, the host addressed a recent controversy surrounding Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

As you may know, Jack recently asked why the same scrutiny given to January 6th’s chaos at the Capitol wasn’t applied to 2020’s near-yearlong riots.

When pressed by media to defend his tweet to that effect, Jack offered the following:

“Why are we not looking into those things if we’re going to talk about it? … Because it’s kind of hard for me to say. I can realistically look at it. I see the images on the TV — people’s livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down, no problem. And then we have a dust-up at the Capitol — nothing burned down. And we’re not going to talk about, we’re going to make that a major deal. I just think [it’s] kind of two standards. And if we apply the same standard and we’re going to be reasonable with each other, let’s have a discussion. … Let’s have a discussion. We’re Americans. Let’s talk it through.”

“I’m just expressing myself,” Jack explained. “And I think we all, as Americans, have the right to express ourselves.”

As it turns out, he was wrong — at least so far as Commanders head coach Ron Rivera was concerned.

From NBC News on June 10th:

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera on Friday fined his defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio, $100,000 for calling the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol a “dust-up” and referring to the racial justice protests of 2020 as a “summer of riots.”

Ron released a statement calling the Capitol situation “domestic terrorism” and 2020’s goings-on “peaceful protests.”

Ron made clear the Commanders would “not tolerate any equivalency between those who demanded justice in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the actions of those on January 6 who sought to topple our government.”

pic.twitter.com/86bJREVDsq

— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) June 10, 2022

Bill Maher, it seems, won’t tolerate Ron’s intolerance.

Friday night, Bill was quite the commander himself:

“Now, this is a very common view that [Jack Del Rio] has. … I think I could…convince him there are really important differences between those two things, and actually, the attack on the Capitol was worse. Nevertheless, he has a right to be wrong. In America, you have the right to be wrong.”

“They fined him,” Bill marveled. “The team fined him $100,000 for this opinion. Fining people for an opinion — I am not down with that.”

Bill referenced Coach Don’s acknowledgment that Jack had a right to free expression. “Apparently not,” Bill replied.

“You know what? This is the ‘Don’t pee on my shoe and tell me it’s raining (thing). What the [heck] are you talking about? He doesn’t have a right to an opinion. And it’s obviously not his right to do so. So…say you’re against free speech, but don’t tell me this.”

[Language Warning]:

HBO’s @BillMaher denounces $100,000 fine on Jack Del Rio. “He has a right to be wrong….Fining people for an opinion. — Brent Baker 🇺🇦 (@BrentHBaker) June 18, 2022

Bill continues his move to the Right. Or, perhaps, the Left continues its move away from Bill. By modern standards, he’s three-quarters conservative whether he likes it or not:

Bill Maher Torches California for Its Regulation, Even Where the Golden State’s Sun Doesn’t Shine

It’s Finally Happened: A Call Rings Out for Bill Maher to Be Fired

As for that last headline, there’s a cost for speaking your mind. For Jack Del Rio, it was $100,000.

Will a calamitous cost catch up to Bill? That remains to be seen. But on the Left side of the aisle, free speech certainly isn’t what it used to be…
