Jim Jordan Issues Stack of Subpoenas For National School Board Officials Who Demanded Biden Administration Target Parents

Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed senior officials at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) as he heads up an investigation into disturbing letters from the organization to the Biden administration that accused concerned public school parents of “domestic terrorism.”

In October of 2021, it was discovered the NSBA had sent a letter to the Biden administration asking them to launch investigations into parents who show up in protest at their own school board meetings across the country. As the pandemic wore on without proof it was affecting the general student population in any serious way, parents began demanding government schools return to normal procedures, open classrooms and abandon unnecessary mask and vaccine mandates. The situation was exacerbated by school closures, which gave parents an intimate look into what was happening in classrooms. Critical race theory perversions of history and social lessons, secret transgender policies, and sexualized (and sometimes pornographic) content was suddenly on display for parents to see, and they did not like it.

Reactions from school board members across the nation did nothing to ease the minds of concerned parents. Many boards limited speaking time, threatened parents, and used their positions to scold those who dared to ask questions. They fired teachers who refused to go along with the union-backed learning chaos and hired security to make public meetings seem somehow dangerous simply because constituents were upset with elected officials. The NSBA letter accused parents of “malice, violence and acts of threats” and demanded the DOJ, NSB and FBI launch investigations. An earlier draft of the letter even suggested engaging the National Guard to “protect” school board meetings against parents who had the gall to suggest they should be made aware of what’s happening with their children at school.

As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes. As such, NSBA requests a joint expedited review by the U.S. Departments of Justice, Education, and Homeland Security, along with the appropriate training, coordination, investigations, and enforcement mechanisms from the FBI, including any technical assistance necessary from, and state and local coordination with, its National Security Branch and Counterterrorism Division, as well as any other federal agency with relevant jurisdictional authority and oversight. Additionally, NSBA requests that such review examine appropriate enforceable actions against these crimes and acts of violence under the Gun-Free School Zones Act, the PATRIOT Act in regards to domestic terrorism, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the Violent Interference with Federally Protected Rights statute, the Conspiracy Against Rights statute, an Executive Order to enforce all applicable federal laws for the protection of students and public school district personnel, and any related measure. As the threats grow and news of extremist hate organizations showing up at school board meetings is being reported, this is a critical time for a proactive approach to deal with this difficult issue.

Jordan is leading a “Weaponization Committee” to investigate how the Biden administration used certain government organizations as weapons against citizens, especially parents of school-age children, during the pandemic. One official called to testify for the committee is Chip Slaven, the former NSBA interim executive director and current treasurer of the organization.

Also on the list is Nina Jankowicz, the unfortunate director of the short-lived Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board. The new department was ridiculed out of official existence for its very 1984-ish creepy specter. In a hilarious turn of events, Jankowicz told National Review that Jordan’s committee was an “abuse of congressional oversight powers” and “wildly out of control.”

“Under Jim Jordan, the abuse of congressional oversight powers is about to get wildly out of control. His ‘weaponization’ committee is the entity that is actually weaponizing our government, and the American people deserve better.”

This is the way.
