WATCH: Ian Prior Discusses How to Fight for Our Schools

July 1, 2022 by Jeff Charles Leave a Comment

On the latest episode of “A Fresh Perspective” with me, your favorite conservatarian, I spoke with Ian Prior of Fight for Schools and America First Legal. Prior has been on the front lines in the effort to stop school districts from indoctrinating children into far-leftist ideology – especially in Loudoun County, Virginia.

During the conversation, Prior talked about how he and his organization are working to get people elected to school boards who will work to counteract attempts to indoctrinate young children. He also explained how America First Legal is using the legal system to fight back against the woke agenda in America’s government.

19th Century Bank Adds Pronouns to Teller Name Tags, Invites Unwoke Customers to Close Their Accounts

June 30, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

In our modern era, everything is political.

Case in point: the Bank of Scotland’s Halifax bank. Whereas businesses once provided products or services primarily to net loads of loot, today they appear as ideological initiatives that just happen to not be nonprofits.

Founded in 1853, surely Halifax was initially above all a bank. But society is evolving, and the company no longer has time to bother with bigots.

As reported by the British Broadcasting Company, Halifax recently wore its wokeness on its sleeve. “Pronouns matter,” it heralded via a Tuesday tweet. “#It’sAPeopleThing.”

The post included an employee name tag, complete with “she/her/hers” designation:

Pronouns matter. #ItsAPeopleThing pic.twitter.com/vj9UdlBnLy

— Halifax (@HalifaxBank) June 28, 2022

A rain of revulsion perniciously poured. Some said they’d take their money elsewhere while others just pithily sank the bank:

  • [This is] pathetic virtue signaling.
  • Why are you trying to alienate people?
  • What if a Halifax employee doesn’t want to put pronouns on their lapel, perhaps because they reject the cult of gender ideology? Will they be disadvantaged in any way? Barred from promotion? Fired?
  • [P]ronouns are the membership card of a dangerous movement…
  • The issue that people are having is that activists are trying to inject simple grammar with the ideology of “gender.”

One critic pointed to a personal-pronoun peculiarity; I’ll provide my treatment of it from a previous piece:

A perplexity of the pronoun craze is its nil effect on what anyone is called to their face; it literally changes nothing about person-to-person communication.

So if you’re “bunself” to me, you’ll never know. My use of the word will always be a hop, skip and jump away.

If I consider you “kittenself,” that’s some mentioned milk you’ll never get to lap: It’ll never be anything I say — at least, so far as you’re aware.

(I secretly call you kittenself)

Hence, provided pronouns aren’t akin to “I’m letting you know my moniker.” Rather their inclusion conveys, “I demand you speak thusly when I’m nowhere to be found.”

As for the backlash, Halifax wasn’t happy. So the non-nonprofit took a stand: If you don’t share the company’s pronoun perspective, don’t let the door hit ya where the woke gods split ya:

“We strive for inclusion, equality and quite simply, in doing what’s right. If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account.”

We strive for inclusion, equality and quite simply, in doing what’s right. If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account. ^AndyM

— Halifax (@HalifaxBank) June 28, 2022

Half an hour later, Halifax signaled to safety:

“We want to create a safe and accepting environment that opens the conversation around gender identity. … For us, it’s a very simple solution to accidental misgendering.”

Commerce has quickly changed. In the past, companies would fight for your business. These days, it seems they believe the power dynamic has reversed: You will align yourself with their singular view, or you’ll cease to be a valued customer.

Curiously, if every powerful corporation makes that shift — and if all of them occupy the same issues’ sides — then they do, indeed, have that power.

Speaking of, rival bank HSBC joined the jamboree:

“We stand with and support any bank or organization that joins us in taking this positive step forward for equality and inclusion. It’s vital that everyone can be themselves in the workplace.”

So goes corporate culture.

Even so, HSBC and Halifax may be accommodating hims and hers and theys; but how far up the ladder of enlightenment have they climbed?

Social justice demands just deserts, and a worker’s truth may need Big Banking to reach another rung.

She/they may be feeling safe behind the loan desk, but what if there’s a wine cake working the window?

Incontinent Ex-Trans Man Sues Over Penis Removal, Predicts an 'Avalanche' of Court Cases

June 28, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

Where transgenderism is concerned, the West is in uncharted territory. The metaphor could apply to a host of implements, including puberty blockers and “top” and “bottom” surgeries.

Related to the latter, a UK man is suing the National Health Service.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle resident Ritchie Herron has lived tortuously for four years due to the impact of “gender affirmation” procedures.

Battling mental health issues – and after decades of suppressing his homosexuality – Ritchie, 35, had thought the answer was to become a woman.

In his 20s, Ritchie “stumbled across the idea of gender dysphoria in an internet chatroom. Older men on the forum convinced the vulnerable young man he ‘must be trans.’”

In 2012, the man saw an affirming psychologist. Then it was on to the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust’s Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service.

Due to a long wait time, Ritchie sought counsel at a private gender clinic in 2014. After only two 30-minute appointments, he was diagnosed with “transsexualism.”

A psychiatrist recommended he take medication to block his testosterone production – the first step towards gender reassignment.

A family member had accompanied him to the clinic and tried to persuade the doctor that Ritchie wasn’t in an appropriate state of mind.

Ritchie says: “She told the doctor I was on a high dose of antidepressants and had lots of complex issues, and yet they were referring me for gender treatment.”

At 26, he explains, he went along with the medical recommendations because he was “very vulnerable.”

Right started calling himself “Abby” and wearing women’s clothes. Due to his testosterone suppression, he began developing breasts.

By March 2015, he was attending appointments at the NHS gender clinic in Newcastle.

“The first question you get asked there is, ‘Do you want genital surgery?’” he says. “I wasn’t sure. But I’d heard you could get therapy if you were on the waiting list for surgery, so I said yes.”

Surgery came soon after:

Less than six months later, in July 2015, Ritchie received a referral for vaginoplasty surgery. Ritchie says he told the psychiatrist he was unsure and turned it down, but continued to receive therapy.

In 2017, he was given another referral for surgery, to be performed at the Nuffield Health hospital in Brighton but paid for by the NHS. Ritchie refused it again – but says he was told that if he did not accept the referral he would be discharged from the service.

Though he was becoming suicidal, he continued down a permanent path:

At 10am on May 23, 2018, Ritchie was wheeled into the operating theatre. “I didn’t even see the surgeon,” he says. “I was very much in the mindset of ‘I’m here now, there’s no stopping it even if I wanted to.’”

The irreversible operation involves removing the penis and testicles, and reforming the area to resemble female genitals.

Fast-forward to debilitating dysfunction:

It takes him ten minutes to empty his bladder, a process as painful as it is slow. Any sex drive is long gone. In fact, he says, his crotch is numb, “shell-shocked” from the damage done to him under the apparent care of the NHS.

“Numb” rather sums up Ritchie’s whole demeanor as he struggles to process what has happened to him. Today he reveals – in an exclusive interview – that he is the man preparing legal action against the NHS over an operation that removed his genitals.

Ritchie claims he was fast-tracked into making “the biggest mistake of [his] life.” He’s been “left infertile, incontinent and with ongoing pain.”

He asserts the NHS clinic took no account of his mental health issues, which might’ve led him to believe he was transgender. Furthermore, he wasn’t properly warned of the medical risks of his procedures.

Many people are following in Ritchie’s footsteps:

His account raises serious questions about the safeguards in place at NHS gender clinics, which have seen a 1,700 percent rise in referrals over the past ten years, accounted for mainly by children and young adults.

Support for transgenderism has become ubiquitous — from the edge of society’s left wing to the airwaves of Fox News:

— RedState (@RedState) June 12, 2022

Clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson isn’t onboard with the counseling field’s move toward immediate affirmation. He recently explained the role of a therapist in the documentary What Is a Woman?

“There’s no such thing as a gender-affirming therapist. It’s a contradiction in terms. Because you don’t affirm if you’re a therapist. It’s not your business to affirm. You come to see me because there’s something wrong. … Am I going to affirm what you think? No, it’s not up to me to affirm it. You don’t get a casual pat on the back from a therapist for your pre-existing axiomatic conclusions. That’s not therapy; that’s a rubber stamp.”

Given our medically-fueled gender revolution, what does the future hold? Might a new generation eventually have strong thoughts — and, possibly, court filings — about the paths upon which they were placed? It doesn’t seem impossible.

“This is an avalanche waiting to happen,” he told the Mail. “Transition is now being sold to people on a mass scale.”

29-Year-Old Biological Male Bests 13-Year-Old Girl in Women's Skateboarding Tournament

June 27, 2022 by Alex Parker Leave a Comment

Transgenderism in sports is a hot topic, and the skateboarding community recently felt some heat.

As relayed by Fox News, this weekend saw the women’s division finals of The Boardr Open in New York. Among the top six finishes were a 10-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 29-year-old biological male.

Leading the pack was Ricci Tres.

In a November interview, Ricci talked of transformation:

Here’s the skater qualifying for the Red Bull SOLUS, a men’s and women’s competition in California:

Ricci made the SOLUS. And on Saturday, the skater took The Boardr Open — pocketing the women’s division’s $500 prize.
Of the top half-dozen, two-thirds were 16 years old or younger.

Second place — and $250 — went to 13-year-old Shiloh Catori, who currently resides at 133rd in the Boardr Global Ranks.

Ricci — who, according to the Daily Mail, is a “divorced, ex-Navy father-of-three” — ranks 838th.

As noted by Fox, not everyone was impressed:

Many on social media excoriated the tournament for the biological and age disparities between the competitors, including female skateboarder Taylor Silverman, who spoke out in May after having repeatedly placed second in skateboarding contests against biological males.

“I have been in three different contests with trans women, two of which I placed second,” Silverman wrote in an Instagram post on May 17, which met with a barrage of negative comments. She went on to explain that the transgender competitor she lost against in a Redbull Cornerstone skate event took home $1,000 in qualifiers, $3,000 in finals and $1,000 in best trick.

As you know, the world of athletics has entered uncharted territory. For a few years now, arenas of sport have let males identifying as women compete with females. Testosterone testing has varied from sport to sport. But some fields are beginning to tighten rules in ways that will shut out previously-allowed competitors:

Transgender Swimmer Lia Thomas’ Professional Career Hits a Brick Wall After Major Ruling

Another Sport Bans Biological Males Like Lia Thomas From Women’s Athletics

Additionally, states such as Alabama, Louisiana, and South Dakota have banned biological males from girls’ athletics.

But certainly, not all sports are following that line:

Report: Soccer May Eliminate All Testosterone Requirements for Transgender Athletes

Back to New York’s Boardr Open, many would argue that a 29-year-old — no matter their sex — would have an advantage, at least in experience, over kids. Christina Pushaw — spokeswoman for Gov. Ron DeSantis — would be one of those. On social media, she asked why someone Ricci’s age was “competing against children.”

— Taylor Silverman (@tmsilverman) June 25, 2022

Podcaster Tim Pool pointed out that males have “higher centers of gravity, granting advantages that cannot be removed with [hormone replacement therapy].”

Males in skateboarding have higher centers of gravity granting advantages that cannot be removed with hrt

That plus the Q angle differences

So it’s unfair to female athletes

Your semantics are not relevant

— Tim Pool (@Timcast) May 18, 2022

Speaking of, The Post Millennial reports that Ricci recently failed to qualify for a tournament:

Tres submitted a virtual run for the USA National Skateboarding Championships, but was unable to meet the deadline for submitting hormone level testing. Later, Tres’ testosterone levels were deemed to be “much higher” than the levels required two compete in the women’s division.

In an interview with USA Skateboarding around this time, Tres revealed that the athlete was around 190 units over the required testosterone levels for International Olympic Committee Standards.

The world of sports is in flux, in a way it’s never been before. What’s around the corner? It’s impossible to tell. But even though we’re dealing with all-new phenomena, it reinforces an old idea: The battle of the sexes is far from over. The same goes, evidently, for the battle of the ages.

Are We Tired of Winning Yet?

June 27, 2022 by Jeff Charles Leave a Comment

It’s a great time to be a conservative. The pendulum continues to swing in favor of the right and most signs indicate that, at least for the time being, Democrats are starting to lose in terms of political power and even in the culture war. It might bring to mind the time when former President Donald Trump famously intoned:

“We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, ‘Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore. Mr. President, it’s too much.’”

It looks like Trump was right. Even though he is out of office, the impact of his presidency can be keenly felt, much to the delight of his supporters and the consternation of the left. Republicans are winning decisively in several key areas and, barring divine intervention, will be riding this wave to a victorious outcome in the upcoming congressional elections.

We can start with the topic that is on everyone’s minds: Roe v. Wade.

Thanks to the Supreme Court’s ruling, which was finally handed down last Friday, states will once again be the ones who decide how abortion is regulated. Indeed, several states are already working on legislation to determine when the procedure would be allowed. Democrats are scrambling to find ways to subvert the new laws and safeguard their favorite sacrament. There is still more work to be done for those seeking to save lives, but this was a significant victory for the pro-life movement.

Proponents of gun rights have also scored a critical win thanks to the Supreme Court, which handed down a ruling last week declaring New York’s gun licensing scheme unconstitutional. The ruling has essentially done away with the idea of a “may issue” state, in which residents must prove they have a valid need to carry a handgun outside their homes. It was the first case the court has reviewed since Heller v. District of Washington, and is seen as a landmark ruling and a tremendous step toward defending the Second Amendment.

Naturally, the anti-gunner lobby is none too happy about the ruling. Democratic politicians like New York City Mayor Eric Adams and others are also looking into alternative ways to limit legal gun ownership while doing little to halt the spread of illegally-obtained guns, which are used in the vast majority of gun crimes. Even still, while Democrats try to limit the carrying of firearms in more places, it will be much easier for people to obtain licenses to conceal carry in states like New York, California, Maryland, and the rest of the “may issue” states.

The Supreme Court has granted even more victories to the conservative movement, especially when it comes to religious freedom. However, one significant development that is not related to the court is the fact that more than 1 million voters have switched their party affiliation to Republican over the past year. This just cinches the fact that Democrats will lose big in the upcoming congressional elections–even with the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe.

But even more, it is a harbinger of what is to come for the Republican Party and conservative movement. The right is now set up to win big politically over at least the next two elections. In November, the GOP has a favorable chance to retake both chambers of Congress. Even better, the party will likely take the White House in 2024. Prospects are looking good for the right when it comes to state and local races, as well.

I am not exaggerating when I say the nation could very well be on the cusp of a conservative renaissance. The right is not just winning politically, they have also gained the upper hand in a myriad of cultural battles, as well. On subjects like education, crime, trans issues, and others, the majority of Americans agree with conservatives, not progressives.

Of course, it is worth pointing out that we cannot put it past the GOP to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It is highly likely that the majority of those switching their votes are doing so more because the Democrats are pushing them away with their feckless ineptitude than because Republicans have enticed them with a better offer. Conservatives should not take this as a sign that they have finally won. It will take tremendous effort to maintain this momentum. Hopefully, we don’t squander it.
