Embarrassing: Cheney's New Remarks About Running for President After Blowout Loss

August 17, 2022 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) got handed her walking papers last night.

Not only did she lose, but she also lost by a historic amount. She lost by 38 points. When you would think that the race would narrow the numbers, she lost by even more than the polls were predicting. People were talking about the crossover vote from Democrats and we had mentioned that the speculation involved 9,000 people. But what the media wasn’t mentioning was tremendous resolve from Republicans in Wyoming. Normally in the primary race in the past, Cheney would win with numbers in the 70,000 range. With 99 percent in, Harriet Hageman has 113,025 to Cheney’s 49,316 — 66.33 percent to 28.94 percent. So 40,000 more than normal additional people came out and voted for Hageman. That’s a lot who came out to make sure that Cheney would be gone. They wanted to ensure that with the Democratic effort to pull funny business, it would be the local Republicans who would have the say in this election. If you removed 9,000 from her count, her loss would be even greater. As our friends over at Twitchy note, that would make the loss more like 41 or 42 points.

But that isn’t stopping Cheney’s delusion or that of the liberal media trying to market her as a noble “thing” (to attack Republicans with) or presidential material. In her rambling remarks, she manages to confirm she is thinking about it (as if we didn’t know that was her game).

“I’ll make a decision in the coming months.” — Rep. Liz Cheney said about possibly running for President. pic.twitter.com/b2SjAYVN2W

— TODAY (@TODAYshow) August 17, 2022

From Daily Mail:

‘I believe that Donald Trump continues to post a very grave threat and risk to our Republic,’ she said on NBC’s morning show. ‘And I believe that defeating him will require a very broad and united front of Republicans, Democrats and Independents. And that’s what I intend to be a part of.’

‘I know that there are millions and millions of Americans across this country, again, regardless of their party affiliation, who know that there’s something more important than partisan politics and who know we all have to stand together if we want to defend this republic,’ she insisted.

When pushed on if she’s thinking about running for president, the congresswoman said: ‘That’s a decision that I’m going to make in the coming months.’

‘I’m not going to make any announcements here this morning,’ Cheney added. ‘But it is something I’m thinking about.’

Her spokesperson said that she would be launching an anti-Trump group, for political outreach as she debates whether to run.

Cheney was so deluded Tuesday night after her loss, that she compared herself to Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant. It was both hilarious and ridiculous.

But if you can’t even win Wyoming, if the folks you allegedly serve throw you out for abandoning them, for being more obsessed with your agenda than theirs, who do you think is your constituency to run for president? Not Republicans who you continue to attack. Not Democrats who will throw you under a bus in a red hot second when you no longer serve their purpose of just attacking Trump and Republicans. The Never Trump folks and the Lincoln Project? With that and a dime, you can’t even get on a bus. It’s truly embarrassing that she’s making such remarks after such a loss and rejecting her constituents. She’s living in a liberal media bubble as to her importance, not the reality that was handed to her last night.

It’s more than time to turn the page on Cheney.

Trump Reacts to Liz Cheney's Defeat

August 16, 2022 by Cameron Arcand Leave a Comment

Former President Donald Trump called Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney’s decisive defeat “wonderful” for America in a post to Truth Social on Tuesday night.

Cheney is a vocal opponent of the former president, whereas Harriet Hageman, who won the Republican primary, is endorsed by him.

“Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming,” Trump said.

“This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs. Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!”

Although Trump and the outgoing congresswoman used to be allies, the relationship especially soured following January 6, 2021. Cheney serves as the vice chair of the House Select Committee to investigate the riot, but she and outgoing Rep. Adam Kinzinger are the only Republicans on the panel.

Cheney was first elected in 2017 and served as the chair of the House Republican Conference from 2019 to 2021 when she was removed from the position.

Liz Cheney's Concession Speech Shows Just How Deep Her Delusions Are

August 16, 2022 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has lost her primary handily to Harriet Hageman. It was such a mammoth victory, that the Decision Desk was able to call it within 27 minutes of the polls closing.

Here’s what Dave Wasserman of Cook Political Report is saying about his predictions for the final numbers. He’s thinking it indeed might be between 30-35 points, which is even more than the polling numbers.

Best guess: Harriet Hageman’s (R) margin of victory over Rep. Liz Cheney (R) will exceed 30 pts and probably 35 pts. #WYAL

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) August 17, 2022

That truly says something about the anger in Wyoming at how Cheney abandoned them — not caring what they thought or what they wanted in her obsession over her hatred of Donald Trump. Harriet Hageman meanwhile spoke to the state about their own needs. That’s the bottom line right there.

Cheney was clueless throughout her campaign, so it stood to reason that in her final concession speech, she would continue that clueless streak. She even compared herself to Abraham Lincoln. No, seriously, she did.

— Greg Price (@greg_price11) August 17, 2022

But she wasn’t finished yet. She went on to compare herself to Ulysses Grant. This is sad, hilarious, and ridiculous all at the same time.

But wait, she’s not done yet.

Liz Cheney went on to compare her fight to never let Trump become president again to Ulysses S. Grant marching south in the Battle of the Wilderness. pic.twitter.com/CnZzkpdyil

— Greg Price (@greg_price11) August 17, 2022

Then, after all that prologue, did she declare that she was running for president in 2024? Did she make any concrete statement about her plans, as it was suggested she might? Nope. It was all just delusion and stroking her self-importance. That’s what happens when you live in Virginia and in a liberal media/Twitter bubble. She thinks that the liberal media stroking equates to reality. But Harriet Hageman and people who are truly from Wyoming showed her in a big way what was what.

Now, I’m sure that she will get offers to be on CNN, MSNBC, or The View. That would seem to be her next move — to be with those to whom she’s now attached herself.

There’s no doubt that the folks in Wyoming are celebrating that they may now get a representative who can see them and not just her obsessions. This is also a huge victory for President Donald Trump and there’s celebrating in Trump land tonight.

Bye bye @Liz_Cheney. On the bright side at least you won’t have to pretend to be from Wyoming anymore.

BREAKING: House Race Just Called in Wyoming

August 16, 2022 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Looks like Decision Desk just called it for Harriet Hageman.

Despite some last-minute concerns about cross-over from Democrats switching to help Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), it looks like it wasn’t enough to help Cheney. So far, the numbers are looking like a blowout for Hageman, who had been leading by between 25 and 30 points going into the night.

In her final comments as she voted, Cheney looked like she knew it was over and now, CNN is suggesting that she may have an announcement about her future. I’m sure that she’s probably going to say something about running for future posts and/or fighting Trump. But for now, she’s done, and we can all celebrate.

Let the party begin!

Buh-Bye, Liz Cheney

August 16, 2022 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

It’s finally primary day in Wyoming. This is finally the day that we get to say “Buh-bye” to Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

The polls have had Cheney down by as much as 30 points, and she’s quite likely to lose. She’s so desperate, that she’s been appealing to Democrats to vote for her.

But she came out to vote in Jackson, Wyoming, along with her father, former Vice-President Dick Cheney.

Cheney arrived, with her father and family members, and then waited in line outside for about 10-15 minutes, speaking with others in line as they waited to check in. Some of the voters there were Democrats, switching parties on primary day so they could cast a vote for Cheney.

— Robert Costa (@costareports) August 16, 2022

Proud to cast my ballot today. The challenges we are facing require serious leaders who will abide by their oath and uphold the Constitution- no matter what. pic.twitter.com/PcTXUR6Aw1

— Liz Cheney (@Liz_Cheney) August 16, 2022

So, she was talking to people in line? Wonder if she’s violating their electioneering laws, because that sure looks like they’re right next to a polling place.

Check out this opportunity for fawning coverage from CBS News.

The Cheneys appear in Jackson@CBSNews exclusive pic.twitter.com/EY3qj1cLoE

— Robert Costa (@costareports) August 16, 2022

Cheney said that no matter what the outcome of the vote was in the primary, this would be the “beginning of a battle” that was going to go on. “We’re facing a moment where our democracy really is under attack and under threat.”

Yes, there has been a threat to our Republic; Cheney threw in with the Democrats who have been behind that threat. But she’s about to be thrown out, so that threat’s about to be reduced a little.

But notice the delusional little smile she had there at the end. She thinks that this is going to be her platform to run for president. She’s so clueless, she has no idea that she would have no real constituency. I think she truly thinks this is her springboard.

I wanted to make one more note to my earlier report from Wyoming columnist Bill Sniffin. He told Salem Media radio host Mark Davis some concerns about factors that might work in her favor, including crossover votes from Democrats.

Republican Scott Presler has been working across the country to get people to register as Republicans. He has made an observation about the change in the Democratic registrations in Wyoming since Jan. 2022 — that the number has dropped by 9,000 since then.

In Jan. 2022, there were 45,000 registered democrats in Wyoming.

Today, there are 36,000.

So, it appears that 9,000 democrats switched to Republican in order to vote for Liz Cheney.

In Jan. 2022, there were 196,000 Republicans. Today, there are 215,000.

— #ThePersistence (@ScottPresler) August 16, 2022

I wouldn’t make the conclusion that necessarily means 9,000 are switching, although the numbers certainly line up. Given Joe Biden, some may just have given up on being Democrats — a completely reasonable conclusion to make over the past several months. Bill Sniffin had made a prediction of about 20,000 crossovers between Democrats and independents. So that said, in a low vote count primary (meaning the winner is probably going to be around 60-70,000 votes), 9,000 seems a big number.

But others in Wyoming don’t think it’s going to make that much difference.

“We see some movement from registered Democrat to registered Republican,” Wyoming Democratic Party communications director David Martin told The Epoch Times regarding the past few months. “But we don’t believe it will influence the GOP (primary) as much as people think it will.”

We’ll have to see how it shakes out — it does look like there is some crossover. But as I said, I think you can’t discount how angry Wyoming Republicans are at Liz Cheney, and that’s going to bring them out in droves as well; the math is more on their side. So, I do think we’re in pretty reasonable shape to say “buh-bye” to Liz Cheney, and hello to Harriet Hageman.
