After Elon Musk followed through on his pledge to release damning internal Twitter documents and communications proving that multiple employees of the social media giant acquiesced to requests from the left to suppress content related to the Hunter Biden email scandal, Republican Rep. James Comer (KY), the incoming chairman of the House Oversight Committee, now promises to turn the screws even tighter.
As we reported on Friday, Musk released the first cache of information through independent journalist and Twitterer Matt Taibbi, who then began posting the damning information in multiple Twitter posts.
Taibbi’s lengthy Twitter thread confirmed, after the New York Post’s breaking report on the laptop controversy in the initial hours after the Post story went live, Twitter employees feared it could have been the result of a Russian hacking operation. Why? Political predisposition, in part, and serial liars like California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff rushing to TV cameras to blame Russia, as well — with absolutely zero evidence.
The released information showed employees on Twitter’s legal, policy, and communications teams debating over whether to restrict the Post article under the company’s hacked materials policy, weeks before the 2020 election. What a “coincidence,” huh?
During a Friday night appearance on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Comer told guest host and former Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz that he plans to haul every Twitter employee — past and present — who participated in the suppression before Congress to testify. As transcribed by Breitbart:
Well, in January, Jason, when I take your old position as Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, I can promise you this: every employee at Twitter who was involved in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story will have an opportunity to come before Congress and explain their actions to the American people.
This was a huge story. … But this story’s just beginning, Jason, because we’re going to have every single person at Twitter that was involved in this in front of the House Oversight Committee as soon as possible.

Two of the key parties up to their eyeballs in the suppression effort were, “shockingly,” the Democrat National Committee and the 2020 Biden campaign, as Comer explained to Chaffetz:
[W]e knew that the Democratic National Committee was communicating with Twitter. We knew the Biden campaign was communicating with Twitter. That’s why, in April of this year, we, on the House Oversight Committee, requested that Twitter preserve all documents and correspondence between Twitter executives and the Democratic National Committee and the Biden campaign with respect to the Hunter Biden laptop story.
As I reported in May, 18 Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee asked Twitter’s board of directors to preserve all records related to Musk’s proposed takeover, according to several letters released at the time. Ranking member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) made the formal request to the Twitter Board Chair Bret Taylor in one of the letters:
As Congress continues to examine Big Tech and how to best protect Americans’ free speech rights, this letter serves as a formal request that you preserve all records and materials relating to Musk’s offer to purchase Twitter, including Twitter’s consideration and response to this offer, and Twitter’s evaluation of its shareholder interests with respect to Musk’s offer.
You should construe this preservation notice as an instruction to take all reasonable steps to prevent the destruction or alteration, whether intentionally or negligently, of all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that is or may be potentially responsive to this congressional inquiry.
So, that was then, and this is now.
The Bottom Line
Imagine those Twitter employees, anointed as supreme arbiters of “misinformation” — either anointed by themselves, Twitter higher-ups, or their Democrat minders — and what they must now think. Not that they screwed up, of course; that they got caught.
From “oops” to worse, the Twitter crap is about to really hit the fan for some of these folks.
But, hey — Russian plots and stuff, right?
