Heritage, AFF Sue DOJ for Hiding Documents Detailing Leftist Attacks on Churches, Pro-Life Centers

March 21, 2023 by Ben Kew Leave a Comment

The Heritage Foundation and Advancing American Freedom (AAF), two conservative non-profits, have filed a lawsuit against the Biden Department of Justice seeking to obtain documents related to the response of federal law enforcement to violent attacks targeting pro-life individuals and organizations.

Around 200 churches and pro-life pregnancy crisis centers have been vandalized or violently attacked since the Roe v. Wade ruling last year as progressives expressed their anger at the Supreme Court decision.

Attorney General Merrick Garland declared earlier this month that the FBI and DOJ are committing their “full resources” to the investigation, but so far the bureau has only arrested two people in connection with the incidents.

Garland made the claim under question by Utah Senator Mike Lee, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

“You are right that there are many more prosecutions with respect to the blocking of abortion centers,” Garland told Lee. “But that is generally because those actions are taken with photography at the time, during the daylight. Seeing the person who did it is quite easy.”

“Those who are attacking pregnancy resource centers, which is a horrid thing to do, are doing this at night in the dark,” Garland continued. “We have put full resources on this.”

Last September, the Oversight Project of the Heritage Foundation submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, seeking access to documents related to the Department of Justice’s internal communication about the attacks and communications between the DOJ and the White House. After failing to receive a response, they filed a complaint that was exclusively shared with The Daily Caller.

The lawsuit demands the court to order the DOJ “to conduct a search or searches reasonably calculated to uncover all records responsive to Plaintiffs’ FOIA request” and “to produce, within twenty days of the Court’s order, or by such other date as the court deems appropriate, [any] and all non-exempt records responsive to Plaintiffs’ FOIA Request and indexes justifying the withholding of any responsive records withheld in whole or in part under a claim of exemption.”

Mike Howell, a plaintiff in the case and the director of Heritage’s Oversight project, explained that part of their motivation for the case was the Biden administration’s persecution of pro-life Americans including Catholic activist Mark Houck:

Merrick Garland and his top officials at the DOJ clearly hold us in contempt. They refuse to prosecute those who violently attack pro-life organizations simply for existing and who attempt to coerce and intimidate Supreme Court justices into ruling the way the mob desires. Meanwhile, they send SWAT teams to the homes of pro-life Americans to arrest and prosecute them on trumped-up, phony charges.

There are two standards for the application of justice in this country under Joe Biden and Merrick Garland, and Garland is a disgrace to the office he holds. That’s why we asked for these documents, and it’s why the DOJ refuses to give them up — they know that what Americans would learn will not be pretty. That’s also why we’re not going to stop fighting until we get them. We filed this lawsuit in the middle of the day, so there’s no reason for Garland and his team to miss it.

The organization for Advancing American Freedom (AAF) was also listed as a plaintiff, with the group’s general counsel J. Marc Wheat accusing the DOJ of being “fearful of igniting the wrath of the Far Left and abortion extremists” by failing to prosecute the vandals. “The American people have a right to know why those who burned and vandalized pregnancy centers have not been held accountable for their violence against traditional conservatives and pro-life groups,” he said in a statement.

Biden Vetoes Bipartisan Bid to Prevent Pension Fund Managers From Basing Investment Decisions on ‘ESG’ Factors Like Climate Change

March 20, 2023 by Mike Miller Leave a Comment

Welp, who’d a thunk that Joe Biden would use the first veto of his miserable presidency to shoot down a bipartisan proposal that would have protected Americans’ pensions by blocking pension fund managers from making investment decisions based on so-called climate and other such nonsense?

Other than everyone in the country, I mean.

At issue is so-called “ESG investing,” which means sustainable investing that considers environmental, social, and governance factors to judge an investment’s financial returns and its overall impact.

Don’t let the left pull the wool over your eyes, here: Financial ESG returns are far less important to the left than its moving-target definition of “overall impact.”

As a former CFP (Certified Financial Planner) for nearly 30 years, this insanity hurts my investment-minded head. Moreover, irresponsible factors that have zero upside impact on the potential ROI —return on investment — do a great disservice to workers covered by pensions.

Let’s first lay out the two types of retirement funds.

A defined contribution plan, such as a 401(k) or IRA, is a type of retirement plan in which the employee, employer, or both make contributions on a regular basis. Individual accounts are set up for participants and benefits are based on the amounts credited to these accounts plus any investment earnings on the funds in the account. Employees allocate their contributions, which employers (if they make “matching” contributions), mirror in individual employee accounts, though some companies reserve the right to invest a stated percentage of corporate contributions in the company’s common stock.

On the other hand, defined benefit plans promise a specified monthly benefit at retirement, generally based on a formula in which years of service and average earnings determine the monthly benefit at retirement, meaning workers covered by pensions have no say in how pension funds are invested.

The number of defined benefit plans has dramatically decreased over the years, based on high administration costs, and even more so, because the responsibility for underfunded pensions rests solely with the employer.

Here’s a pretend case in point, for illustration purposes only. Let’s assume the recently collapsed and super-woke Silicon Valley Bank had had a pension — it didn’t — and thank God for the sake of bank employees.

As reported by HeatMap, more than 60 percent of community solar financing nationwide involved Silicon Valley Bank.

The bank’s website bragged about its particular support of solar, hydrogen, and energy-storage companies. It provided more than half a billion dollars in revolving credit to Sunrun, the country’s largest residential solar company. (Sunrun did not respond to a request for comment by press time.)

So it’s not a stretch to suggest that the wokified bank would’ve invested pension funds in a similar fashion.

Yet, Joe Biden astonishingly appears to believe that saddling a pension manager with making ESG decisions as a priority is safer for employees than removing the woke handcuffs, as the bipartisan group of lawmakers proposed.

I just vetoed my first bill. This bill would risk your retirement savings by making it illegal to consider risk factors MAGA House Republicans don’t like. Your plan manager should be able to protect your hard-earned savings — whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene likes it or not.

Earth to Joe: Dude, you have no idea who or what you’re mumbling about.

I just vetoed my first bill.

This bill would risk your retirement savings by making it illegal to consider risk factors MAGA House Republicans don’t like.

Your plan manager should be able to protect your hard-earned savings — whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene likes it or not. pic.twitter.com/PxuoJBdEee

— President Biden (@POTUS) March 20, 2023

A complete crock of crap.

The Bottom Line

While Biden can lie with zero impunity and even less conscience, facts are facts. Any argument in support of ESG investing either ignores or lies about more than a few investment fundamentals.

Now, it’s one thing if an individual makes personal investments based on whatever the hell factors he or she wants, but a defined benefit plan manager has a fundamental fiduciary responsibility to make sound investment decisions with the primary goal of protecting future retirement benefits for company employees.

And Joe Biden?

As is the case with everything he touches, Biden remains blinded by the darkness of woke.

Biden Makes His 243rd ‘Cultural Appropriation’ of an Ethnicity

March 20, 2023 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

How many ethnicities has Joe Biden claimed or “culturally appropriated” at this point? I don’t know, I think I’ve lost track. It seems like every week it’s a new one. It may not be 243, but it sure feels like it.

It’s become a joke at this point that Joe Biden may be the first black, Puerto Rican, Irish, Jewish civil rights activist, and truck driver in the office. But he just keeps adding more, in his effort to pander to whatever audience he happens to be before. The last one I think was when he was in Poland and made the cringeworthy comment that he felt self-conscious in his hometown because his name didn’t end in a “ski” or “o.” Oh, and he made some bizarre and offensive comments about the Irish on Friday, including talking about them being drinkers.

On Monday, Biden was recognizing Nowruz, which marks the start of the Persian New Year, the vernal equinox, and the first day of spring. But Joe Biden couldn’t just recognize the day and move on. He had to claim his own “connection.”

Biden says he’s “a student of the Persian culture — not a practitioner, but a student.” pic.twitter.com/CWtc5Ejtaz

— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) March 20, 2023

“The Persian culture is amazing,” Biden said. He then claimed that he was “a student of the Persian culture — not a practitioner, but a student.”

What does that even mean, that he’s “not a practitioner” — how are you a practitioner of Persian culture? You either are Persian or you are not. You can’t “practice” being Persian. But he is a “student” of Persian culture? He’s studied or been everything to everyone. Except we all know it isn’t true. Does anyone believe that for even a second? That’s about as true as him being a civil rights activist or a truck driver.

If you look at Jill’s face, you know that she knew how silly that was.

pic.twitter.com/LW7gmynorf

— EAS 🇺🇸 (@Simply4Truth_) March 20, 2023

I’m guessing she’s going to have a few words with him afterward. But it’s her fault because she should have stopped him from putting himself in this position.

But he wasn’t done yet with the weird comments. Then he seemed to address a Lt. Colonel in the audience. I’m not sure why he was talking about Mars, but with Joe Biden being in outer space half the time, it probably was bound to happen at some point.

BIDEN: “I just want one commitment from you: when you head to Mars, you won’t take Jill. She’d be gone for too long.” pic.twitter.com/Mg0JgMIFV4

— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) March 20, 2023

“I just want one commitment from you: when you head to Mars, you won’t take Jill,” Biden said. “She’d be gone for too long.”

Yes, then what would he do without a handler for all that time? I’m thinking if you asked Americans, they would prefer they both go instead. That would solve the handler problem.

But this is what he’s talking about and joking about (it isn’t funny), while inflation is crushing Americans, as Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin are increasing their alliance against us. That increasing alliance should worry Joe Biden with China trying to take over the role of the leader in the world. But Joe is sleeping, vacationing, and making bizarre comments while our adversaries are moving and plotting all around us. One might almost think he didn’t care about their movements against us, perhaps because of his family’s connections to people associated with the CCP. It’s a dangerous situation when you not only have to worry about his incoherence and incompetence, but you also have to be concerned about whether or not he has been compromised as well.

Kamala Harris Gets Primed and Prepped for Failure With Latest Assignment

March 20, 2023 by Sister Toldjah Leave a Comment

When last we left you with Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s second in charge was busy getting booed during an NCAA men’s basketball tournament game and giving a pep talk to the Howard University Bison men’s team that hit maximum cringe levels at various points after their near-30-point first-round loss to top-seeded Kansas.

And now, with the border crisis she was tasked by Biden to handle two years ago getting even worse, and with nothing much to show as a significant accomplishment over two years into the job, Harris is now being primed and prepped for her latest assignment – maybe her toughest one yet, which is to convince young voters and voters of color to reelect the Biden-Harris team in 2024:

Vice President Kamala Harris is preparing to campaign extensively when President Biden launches his much-anticipated re-election bid, despite concerns in the Democratic Party that her performance in office, criticized by some as uneven, has made her a liability.

Ms. Harris plans to visit urban centers of swing states to persuade Black voters, young people and other liberal constituencies to re-elect Mr. Biden, according to people familiar with discussions about her campaign efforts. She will lead the administration’s advocacy for abortion rights, tout the administration’s climate investments and echo Mr. Biden’s pledge to protect Medicare and Social Security.

Some top Democratic lawmakers and donors have been questioning Ms. Harris’s future behind closed doors for months, saying they don’t think the vice president has used her platform effectively, according to attendees at these events.

To be fair, vice presidents are supposed to be the president’s biggest cheerleaders and it’s considered bad form to try and “outshine” your boss in that regard in an effort to bolster your ideological bonafides.

That being said, in the support role she’s in as Biden’s veep Harris has been a miserable failure, with the ongoing border crisis and her continued embarrassment of this country on a world stage being two notable examples.

But beyond that, something else to keep in mind is that during Harris’ failed run for president, a big reason her 2020 candidacy went nowhere fast is because her support among two core reliably Democratic voting blocs – black voters and female voters – evaporated within a few weeks of the first Democratic primary debate in the summer of 2019.

For instance, a post-second Democratic primary debate poll from Quinnipiac University taken in early August 2019 showed Harris’ support among black Democrats dropping from 27 percent in early July of that year to a mere 1 percent. The same poll showed her support among Democratic women drop from 24 percent in early July to just 7 percent in early August.

Biden, the old white guy, did much better than she did in that same August 2019 poll:

Biden gets 47 percent of black Democrats, with 16 percent for Sanders, 8 percent for Warren and 1 percent for Harris;
Women Democrats go 31 percent for Biden, 24 percent for Warren, 10 percent for Sanders and 7 percent for Harris;

While it’s true that that was just one poll, it was an indicator of things to come. Harris’ campaign never bounced back after that and she threw in the towel in December 2019.

And the problem for Harris now as she gets set to go on the road on behalf of Joe is that even though her failure to gain traction in 2019 was a long time ago from a political perspective, she’s still being viewed in Democratic circles as a political liability for Biden in 2024. Not only that, but in addition to having to convince black and young voters to pull the lever for Biden even as his approval ratings remain well under 50 percent, she’s also got to persuade the Democratic faithful that she herself deserves another four years.

That’s gonna be an extremely tough sell for someone with so little in her vice presidential portfolio to brag about.

De-Transitioned Teen Sues Hospital, Medical Group for Double Mastectomy She Underwent at Just 13 Years Old

March 20, 2023 by Mike Miller Leave a Comment

This is a horrendous account, which I doubt will be the last of its kind. An 18-year-old de-transitioned victim has filed a lawsuit accusing a hospital and medical group of “intentional fraud and concealment” for a double mastectomy she underwent at just 13 after she first identified as transgender at age 11.

As reported by Fox News, Layla Jane is suing Permanente Medical Group and subsidiary Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (headquartered in super-woke California), the medical providers who performed the double mastectomy. Moreover, Jane alleged in an interview that the doctors pushed her into the procedure and characterized her gender transition as the only way to treat her preexisting mental health problems.

I don’t think I should’ve been allowed to change my sex before I was legally able to have sex. I don’t think I’m better off for the experience, and I think transitioning just completely added fuel to the fire that was my preexisting conditions.

Not to be graphic — and I won’t — but lopping off the breasts (or testicles) of confused-at-best 13-year-olds should be a criminal offense. We’re not talking about politics, here; this is about immoral malpractice.

Watch the latest video at foxnews.com

Here’s more, via Fox News:

Jane said she previously struggled with mental health, including suicidal ideation, before deciding to transition going into adolescence.

Her attorney Harmeet Dhillon alleged Jane’s caregivers failed to administer the necessary mental health treatments before performing the double mastectomy and never informed her that 80% to 90% of teens eager to transition desist from doing so.

Jane’s lawsuit alleged doctors warned her of an increased risk of suicide if she failed to transition to male, adding that they gave her parents a binary option of living with a “live son” or suffering the consequence of having a “dead daughter.”

Again, if true, how can this irresponsible insanity not be criminal, immorality aside?

Dhillon said:

Informed consent was missing here. It is impossible for a child to give informed consent, and it is impossible for parents who are not fully informed and with a child that was not properly treated [cannot] also give that consent.

“I was given no information about rates of desistance or anything like that,” Jane agreed. “Really, the surgery and the treatments were kind of pushed as the only way forward.”

Moreover, Dhillon further asserted that Jane’s breasts cannot be reconstructed while slamming the push for gender-affirming care as “experimentation on America’s children.” Amen. What the hell else can sane people call the irreversible mutilation of a young girl or boy’s body? Let’s toss in chemical castration of boys, as well, while we’re at it.

Kaiser Permanente responded, in a statement provided to “The Ingraham Angle”:

Our physicians and multi-disciplinary care teams practice compassionate, evidence-based medicine founded on sound research and best medical practices to provide comprehensive services based on individual needs of each patient …

The care decisions always rest with the patient and their parents, and, in every case, we respect the patients’ and their families’ informed decisions about their personal health.

Nonsense. This should become a landmark case against the continuing obscenity of irreversible mutilation of young kids across America.

Incidentally, as we reported last Monday, Joe Biden had a “slightly” [sarc] different take on so-called gender reassignment surgery. In reference to the Florida Board of Medicine finalizing a rule to prohibit health providers in the state from offering so-called “gender-affirming care,” including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgeries, for transgender patients younger than 18.

What’s going on in Florida, as my mother would say, close to sinful. I mean, its just terrible what they’re— I mean, it’s not just like a kid wakes up one day and says, ‘You know, I decided I want to become man or I want to become a woman, or I want to change.’

Mumbling Biden of course has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about. Rather, he simply parrots the talking points shoved in front of him by left-wing handlers.

Biden suggests it’s “sinful” and “cruel” to ban puberty blockers and sex change surgeries for kids. pic.twitter.com/y3OOFdle06

— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) March 13, 2023

As reported by WebMD in March 2022, there’s a growing concern among many doctors and other healthcare professionals as to whether gender reassignment surgery is the best way to proceed for those under age 18, in particular, with several countries pulling back on medical treatment and instead emphasizing psychotherapy first.

Joe Biden and the Democrat Party beg to differ.
