Pelosi and the Biden Team’s Preposterous (and Dangerous) Remarks on China

Joe Biden and the Democrats just don’t seem to appreciate the threats from China. Or maybe it’s just that Biden wants to bend over for them at every moment. How many times have we heard him go on about his discussions with China’s leader Xi Jinping at this point? That spawned this infamous comment from Biden, with what he supposedly said to Xi.

But the problem is that Joe Biden doesn’t take the threat from China seriously. China is playing for keeps here, they intend to be the dominant world power and we’re seeing it now as they are reaching out around the world in areas where the U.S. used to be dominant. Joe Biden distanced himself from Saudi Arabia by getting into a very public fight with their leader. Now Saudi Arabia and Iran — who were sworn enemies — have agreed to restore diplomatic relations. That was achieved through the intercession of China, and the failure of Joe Biden. That changes the nature of the Middle East and it’s a bad thing for both the U.S. and Israel. Biden’s response? What he said made no sense.

But what happened was the opposite of “better” relations for Israel.

It also shows Biden’s failure to understand the importance of China being involved in that agreement. This is the same guy who in response to the Chinese spy balloon downplayed it, saying it was “not a major breach” and then insisted to China that we didn’t seek conflict with them, acting like a whipped dog. They’re active all around the world while Joe sits on his hands.

But unfortunately, a bad approach to China is a systemic policy problem among the Democrats and the Biden administration, it’s not just a Joe Biden issue.

Over the last few days, we’ve seen remarkable displays of ignorance on the subject from the Biden team.

So they just sent a spy balloon over our country, they’re threatening Taiwan, we have all kinds of things tied up with China rather than building our independence, they told all kinds of lies about COVID, but this is the Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, not seeming to understand what she’s saying, saying she doesn’t see any problem with “coupling” with one of our biggest adversaries.

I wrote a story about the Chinese spy cranes last week, does Raimondo even know about that?

The Wall Street Journal broke the story about the cranes which are used at our shipping ports to help unload and load ships. An estimated 80 percent of ship-to-shore cranes operating at our ports are made by ZPMC, a China-based manufacturer which is raising concerns about national security and the possibility that they could be operating like “Trojan horses.”

That could endanger all of our shipping if that went south and there are such situations on all fronts. And there are all kinds of “couplings” like that which are potentially problematic where we could be held hostage or be sabotaged. Why? Because we aren’t cultivating our security independence. Of course, maybe she doesn’t care about any of these issues because her husband is reportedly a top executive at a tech firm funded by the Chinese government. So just like Joe Biden, there are “connections.”

Why is the Biden team all in with China — a Communist adversary? It’s madness but let’s hear what Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on Friday. Now, this is a full-on delusion as she describes how China “has been very sensitive” about climate change concerns and we “could learn from what China is doing.”

Of course, this is nonsense since China is one of the worst polluters in the world. China only truly cares about what will advance them. Imagine what she’s saying here — that everyone else isn’t spending enough. The Biden team has already driven inflation up with the crazy spending including on the climate change agenda. Yet they want to spend even more. But they’re nuts on this subject, as Granholm revealed.

Yikes.

Then on Monday, there was former House Speaker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saying that we can’t go after China with a “cudgel” because we have to work with them on “climate change.”

Can you imagine what we could have done at this point had the Democrats focused on holding China accountable for their COVID lies, with all the time they’ve been spending on climate change? We can’t go after them with a “cudgel”? How about just holding them accountable for what we know they did? This is just madness. I can assure Nancy Pelosi that China’s first thought about us isn’t how they can work with us to “save the planet”; it’s about what they do to outstrip us across the world. This is why China is running over us on every front, even in the diplomatic arena now as well, because the Democrats with Biden in charge are asleep at the switch, or perhaps worse, completely in bed with the idea of the Chinese ascendancy.

So what does Pelosi have to say about our leader who is asleep at the switch? As former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki accidentally admitted, he doesn’t do anything before 9 a.m. He goes “early to bed” as well. So when does he work? But here’s Nancy on what a magnificent leader old Joe is. After all, he is younger than her, you know.

Magnificent? If magnificent means incoherent and should retire, then, yes, she’s correct. Imagine how funny it is when she tries to cover for him when she says he’s younger than her. That’s just another argument for why she should be gone too.

These are the folks we have in charge and boy does it feel like they’re selling us down the river. What a scary reality that is. 2024 and tossing them out can’t come soon enough.

Investigating the Investigators: Rep. Loudermilk Announces Probe Into the Jan. 6 Committee

Georgia GOP Representative Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, said on Wednesday that his panel is launching an investigation into the January 6 Committee to find out if important information about the day’s events was hidden by the panel.

Investigators investigating the investigators. This could get fun.

Loudermilk:

“We’ve got to get through the documents. We need to do some interviews with people. But at some point, we will have some hearings,” Loudermilk said, also adding the panel is reviewing video from Jan. 6, 2021.

It’s certainly no coincidence that the announcement comes as Tucker Carlson has been dropping unedited J6 footage every night this week on his Fox News show.

The probe will also investigate the rampant security failures during the protests:

“We need to give a serious, in-depth investigation into what happened that day, which the J6 committee didn’t do. We need to know, where were the security failures … as well as what do we need to do to fix it?”

Hopefully, Loudermilk will investigate the actions (and inactions) of then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Although she was not technically the head of the Capitol Police, as some reports have indicated, she was nevertheless deeply engaged in security matters. In a 2022 supplement to a Senate probe, minority Republicans concluded that:

The Speaker’s office was heavily involved in planning and decision-making before and during the events of January 6, 2021, and micromanaged the Sergeant at Arms.

Loudermilk has been in the news recently because of persistent rumors that he led a “reconnaissance tour” of the Capitol for protesters the day before January 6 to give them the lay of the land, a claim the J6 Committee endorsed. As RedState’s Streiff reported, however, Tucker Carlson nuked that story into next week as he has so many others in recent days (see the video in Loudermilk’s tweet above).

Meanwhile, the House Administration Committee has already launched a portal to collect tips from the public. They write on the webpage:

…the Committee on House Administration has launched this information intake portal to provide an avenue by which individuals with knowledge of the events of January 6th and the Select Committee who wish to provide information to the Committee regarding what transpired on January 6th may do so.

Republicans are also starting an investigation into the treatment of January 6 prisoners in D.C. jails. Per the New York Times:

On Thursday, Ms. [Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor] Greene wrote to the D.C. mayor, Muriel Bowser, demanding answers to questions, a tour of the correctional facility in southeastern Washington, and access to staff and inmates to conduct interviews by March 23. She and two other lawmakers also asked for all documents and communications about the Jan. 6 detainees’ complaints regarding the conditions.

As I wrote in November, the Republican red wave never materialized—but that didn’t mean all was lost. The GOP still won the House, and as former president Barack Obama once said, “elections have consequences.” With the power of the majority, Speaker Kevin McCarthy and his colleagues are now able to delve into the real facts behind the farcical J6 Committee, the origins of COVID, the suppression of free speech by big tech with the help of the DOJ, and so much more.

Hold their feet to the fire, Republicans. Americans deserve answers.

Two Years After the First Arrests, January 6 Defendants Will Finally See All the Evidence Against Them

Sometimes stories break that are so sad you don’t know what to do with them. Wednesday, Politico announced that the defendants in the January 6 show trials would finally be allowed to, now hold onto your seat, see all of the video of the event in which they are accused of participating.

House Republicans are moving to provide defendants in Jan. 6-related cases access to thousands of hours of internal Capitol security footage, a move that could influence many of the ongoing prosecutions stemming from 2021’s violent attack.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), who chairs the House Administration Committee’s oversight subpanel, said that the access for accused rioters and others — which Speaker Kevin McCarthy has greenlighted — would be granted on a “case-by-case basis.”

“Everyone accused of a crime in this country deserves due process, which includes access to evidence which may be used to prove their guilt or innocence,” Loudermilk told POLITICO in a statement. “It is our intention to make available any relevant documents or videos, on a case-by-case basis, as requested by attorneys representing defendants.”

Loudermilk, you’ll recall, is the Georgia representative slandered by members of the J6 committee openly and in leaks to the media as well as in the final committee report. He was accused of leading J6 rioters on a reconnaissance of the US Capitol when the actual truth was that one guy on a tour he conducted of two House office buildings that were not involved in the J6 demonstration had attended the Trump rally but was not involved in the demonstration. There are people awaiting trial, some on relatively minor offenses, who have been incarcerated since 2021. They have only had access to that video the prosecution wants to give them. A more significant problem is that Nancy Pelosi, in her role as the most corrupt Speaker in the history of the Republic, used the “separation of powers” doctrine to restrict the video available to the Department of Justice. Former RedStater shipwreckedcrew, who is now the attorney of record for Jake Chansley, aka the “QAnon Shaman,” says:

Basically, 30,000 hours of video that may be relevant to the defense of political prisoners has been withheld from them and their attorneys. It may not be relevant, but the government and certainly not the corrupt Speaker of the House doesn’t get to decide that.

So, even if, by some mischance, the Department of Justice was acting in good faith, the majority of the video from January 6 was not available to them. Just as the J6 committee was a lineal successor of Josef Stalin’s show trials, what is going on in federal court in DC is not much better. There is no reason why any of the video from January 6 should have ever been kept secret from members of Congress or the public, but keeping it from the J6 detainees and their counsel flies in the face of any semblance of a fair trial.

I’ve long had my issues with Speaker McCarthy — and I still have a lot of them — but this act of charity, good faith, and fair dealing with the J6 detainees and the nation gives me hope that he will be better than the foul oligarch he replaced.
