Just when you thought you’d seen the dumbest thing Brady president Kris Brown could manage this week, she decided to up her game.
Honestly, I wanted to leave the woman alone. She hasn’t really impressed me with her brilliance or political acumen and, to be frank, it felt a little bit like beating up the disabled.
Then she came for Star Wars.

Uh…does Brown not realize that Anakin Skywalker slaughtered the younglings–basically, elementary school-aged students–with a lightsaber?
In fact, if she wants to invoke Star Wars, she’s in for a rough time because that incident actually undermines a lot of gun control arguments, really. After all, we on this side of the debate have long argued that the problem is the individual in question, not the weapon in their hands.
A Sith lord massacring children with something that looks nothing like a gun should make it pretty obvious that a blaster isn’t needed to kill the innocent.
But think about some of the people in Star Wars who use blasters. They’re often the non-Jedi or non-Sith. They’re people who, without that universe’s analog to a firearm, would be absolutely powerless.
Then we have the show itself.
The Acolyte does, indeed, say they won’t have blasters nearly as much as other Star Wars properties, but let’s not think for an instant this is some kind of political statement. It’s not.
The article that Brown tweeted makes it pretty clear that this is about telling potential viewers what to expect–lightsaber battles similar to the one from The Phantom Menace between Darth Maul and the Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon duo.
Why are there fewer blasters? Because neither the Jedi nor the Sith uses them in that property. Those are for those who don’t have the Force.
So for Brown to pretend this has anything to do with modern firearms, gun policy, the gun control debate, or anything else is, at best, disingenuous.
Unless, of course, she actually believes that, in which case she has less going on upstairs than I originally gave her credit for. If that’s the case, I’m amazed she’s able to actually type stupid things on Twitter/X/whatever.
Luckily, she got pushback.

The Anakin thing is going to loom large because, well, it’s a big deal. Brown apparently is unfamiliar with the property or, as I mentioned earlier, she’s not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
Honestly, if this is the best Brady can produce, maybe it’s time that particular gun control organization shut down for good because this is getting embarrassing.
I mean, I disagree with them on pretty much everything and I’m starting to feel bad for them. This is their president? This is who they could get to run a gun control organization that was once the only thing that could challenge the NRA in the gun debate?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to lose sleep over it, but this is just sad.
When we talk about someone beclowning themselves in the future? This is the standard by which all future beclownings will be judged by.
