As if the Presser Weren’t Bad Enough, Biden Then Makes Embarrassing Posts About His Visit to Vietnam

I think it’s fair to say that Joe Biden’s trip to Vietnam did not go well. 

Biden’s press conference in Hanoi was truly bizarre, even for him. He talked about “following orders” when calling on only a few preselected reporters and having prepared notes. But that didn’t save him, because he went over the edge anyway, talking about “dog-faced pony soldiers.” His staff even pulled the plug on the presser as he was saying something mid-word after he had trouble even speaking at one point, and said he had to go to bed. He then insulted the Southern Hemisphere by calling them “third world.”

On top of all that, he was in Vietnam on 9/11 rather than back in the United States at one of the sites of the attack, as has been the tradition for American leaders for the past 22 years. Instead, he visited a monument to the capture of John McCain. His excuse for skipping out on being at a 9/11 site was pitiful. According to Fox’s Peter Doocy, the excuse was “22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. Presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii.”  What a terrible response, and as my colleague Sister Toldjah explained, it wasn’t even close to being true. He somehow managed to make things even worse. 

Biden did manage to make it back to the U.S. — to Alaska — later in the day on Monday and gave remarks about 9/11 where he joked about how he could have been an All-American and claimed that he was at Ground Zero the day after the attack when the facts showed otherwise.

But Biden wasn’t done with the embarrassing actions quite yet; he still had one more to go for the day.  

“President Vo Van Thuong, thank you for such a productive meeting. This partnership is about unleashing our peoples’ potential and, with it, a range of incredible possibilities,”  Biden posted on X.

Except as Townhall’s John Hasson caught, that wasn’t Thuong in the picture. It was Vuong Dinh Hue, Chair of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

So Joe Biden doesn’t know who he met with where, and he can’t keep the leaders he meets with straight in his head after meeting with them? And/or his staff are just incredibly incompetent when they make mistakes like this. Yikes, indeed. 

This is Biden meeting with Vo Van Thuong at the Presidential Palace. 

Biden even had a state luncheon with him, but still couldn’t retain who he was in his brain. 

Biden met Vuong Dinh Hue later in the day at the National Assembly. 

Biden — or whoever is behind his account — later deleted the post. 

Biden also seemed to have no sense of history or how he was being manipulated here, as they have him sitting under a huge bust of Ho Chi Minh.  He even posted a picture of it himself.

If Biden’s Monday wasn’t embarrassing enough already, this certainly capped off the day.

Joe Biden had a troubling day in Vietnam on Sunday during a press conference. Although he was only answering five questions from preselected reporters, the president had trouble even speaking at points. He rambled on about “dog-faced pony soldiers” in a bizarre story, insulted the Southern Hemisphere, and said he had to go to bed. Then his staff pulled the plug on the presser and played music over his last few remaining words so people wouldn’t be able to hear any further rambling.

His trip to Vietnam also raised another problem. Being there meant he wasn’t going to get back for any 9/11 recognition ceremonies in NYC, Shanksville, PA, or Washington, D.C. That was bad enough, but his excuse was awful too, saying that “22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. Presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii,” according to Fox’s Peter Doocy. That’s incredibly insulting and dismissive of the day.  

But on top of that, on the anniversary of such a terrible attack on America, he was in Vietnam, thanking the Vietnamese for their sentiments. I can’t begin to say how discordant that seems. 

He’s not “able to get back” because he didn’t plan to be able to get back. Had he wanted to, he could have. But being in Vietnam on the day was a little much. 

On top of that, Biden went to visit  the “McCain Memorial.”

First, he seemed old and out of it. He put his hands on the wreath as though he thought he was supposed to pick it up and place it somewhere. At one point he leaned down close to the monument and left a coin. He said he missed the late Sen. John McCain, whom he called his “friend.” Some claimed he was “kissing” the monument, but the pool report said he was leaving the coin. 

But what wasn’t being said, and I’m not sure Biden even understood, was that this was a monument recognizing the capture of McCain at that lake. The figure on the monument is on his knees with his hands up. You can see it in the video and the picture above. 

This is what it said: 

“On 26 October 1967 at Trúc Bạch Lake, Hanoi’s people and armed forces captured U.S. Naval Air Force Lieutenant Commander John Sidney McCain who flew the A-4 aircraft shot down at the Yen Phu power plant. His was one of ten planes shot down that day.”

This is what it looked like. There was something erected in 1967, then changes/updates were added later.

How has this gotten turned into a “memorial” for someone like Biden to recognize?

But this is what Biden was doing on 9/11 rather than being at one of the memorial sites. 

More on Bizarre Comment Biden Made Right Before Staff Pulled the Plug on His Vietnam Presser

I reported earlier on the wild press conference that Joe Biden did in Vietnam that had a lot of bizarre and embarrassing moments, with Biden going off into flights of fancy about John Wayne movies and dog-faced pony soldiers. He couldn’t even deal with the preselected few reporters he was told to call on, getting upset at one reporter and making it clear that he was being told what to do by his staff, saying he was just “following orders.”  It got so bad that his staff pulled the plug on the presser right in the middle of Biden answering a question mid-word.

Here’s a little bit more on what he said before they cut him off and started playing the music to signal to him to stop talking and get off the stage. He seemed to be stalling out and having trouble even speaking. He even seemed to be panting in between words. Then he said that he had to “go to bed” before he started calling the Southern hemisphere “the Third World,” not getting how insulting that was. That’s what caused them to pull the plug.

He still did try to talk over the music and then booked it out of there when they asked about his son possibly being indicted.

When you are being led around by your staff and taking orders from them, not to mention confirming that “Sleepy Joe” nickname and not being able to handle the trip, then that’s a big problem if you’re trying to convince people to vote for you. If his staff has to save him now, imagine how bad it will be a year from now when he’s deteriorated even more. 

There was also one other significant statement he made during the press conference that is just so crazy, even for Joe Biden. 

“The only existential threat humanity faces — even more frightening than a nuclear war — is global warming going above 1.5° in the next 20, 10 years,” Biden said, saying we would be in real trouble. “There’s no way back from that.”

How can you take anyone seriously who thinks like that? And how can you expect the right national security priorities from someone whose thinking is so out of whack like this?  No wonder he doesn’t seem to take the threat of nuclear war seriously.

But if he truly thought this, then why does he take his jet on vacation virtually every weekend? Why does he employ big gas-guzzling SUV motorcades everywhere he goes, with dozens of vehicles? One would think he doesn’t take it as seriously as he claims, that maybe it’s more about using the issue for control.

This is scary stuff when this guy has his finger near the nuclear codes.

Even the Liberal Press Noticed How Insane Biden’s Vietnam Presser Was, and Democrats Are in Trouble

As RedState reported, Joe Biden gave a presser for the ages in Vietnam on Sunday. This time, it wasn’t just his senility and references to “dog-faced poney soldiers” that raised eyebrows, though.

Instead, the big shocker was seeing Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, walk out to take the mic from Biden mid-sentence, even as he was trying to answer more questions. To make things even more awkward, the president then remained on the stage, rambling away. No one could hear him, though, because of the aforementioned taking of his mic. 

It was bad. It was really, really bad. It was so bad that even CNN couldn’t ignore what happened, and some of the framing in the liberal network’s report is very telling. 

However, the president lingered on stage, responding to additional questions about what he said to Chinese Premier Li Qiang before he was interrupted by the press secretary.  

Throughout the presser, Biden acknowledged the demands of the whirlwind trip, joking at one point, “These five-day trips around the world are no problem.”  

Minutes before Jean-Pierre ended the press conference, Biden had delivered a lengthy answer that involved a rambling explanation of why he uses the phrase “lying dog-faced pony soldier” in an attempt to explain his feelings about politicians who deny the existence of climate change.

Yes, that is CNN describing Biden as “rambling” while noting that the trip appeared to have taken a mental and physical toll on Biden. Keep in mind he’s only been on the road for three days, and he travels in the world’s most luxurious airplane in the world. When even the left-wing press can’t spin the president’s obvious senility, that says something big. 

They can’t let this guy be the 2024 nominee. They just can’t. I know Democrats have no good options, with Kamala Harris, one of the most unpopular politicians in modern history, waiting in the wings. But what do they do when Biden has multiple episodes on the campaign trail next year? How do they explain that away when whoever the Republican nominee is appears to be far more capable in comparison? 

I understand the goal of Democrats is to make the election a referendum on Donald Trump and January 6th, but even that strategy has its limits. Letting Biden be the nominee is playing with fire, and it’s just asking to get burned. Ironically, while Republicans are going hard after the president, the best scenario is probably that he remains at the top of the ticket. If he’s going to keep deteriorating at this rapid rate, it’s going to be very hard for Democrats to make the case that he can handle another term. Never mind that the economy is likely to be even more in the toilet by election day.

As I’ve said before, they should have just let Gavin Newsom take the spot. I can’t stand the guy and I think he’s been absolutely horrific for California. But from a purely political standpoint, he would have much better appeal in 2024 than Biden. That ship appears to have sailed, though. It’s Biden or Harris, and both are nowhere near a sure thing to win.

Staff Pulls Plug on Presser as Biden Goes Over Edge in Vietnam With Confusion, Dog-Faced Pony Soldiers

Joe Biden was in Hanoi on Sunday, meeting with Vietnam’s Communist Party leader, General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng. 

After the meeting, he made some remarks and took a few questions from the press. We probably don’t even have to say anymore that it didn’t go well, you can just assume that there are going to be big embarrassing issues.

Biden started in confusion about whether it was evening there (it was).  

I think he was trying to make a joke about “Good Morning, Vietnam,” which was a famous Robin Williams movie, not a “famous song.” And maybe that’s not the best movie to bring up when you’re in Vietnam. As my colleague Andrew Malcolm observed in his post about Joe Biden’s visit, Biden said his Afghanistan withdrawal would not be as bad as the Saigon panic, but then it was. 

But that was the good part. It was all downhill from there once the presser started. Although to be fair, it’s not much of a presser when he limits it to five preselected reporters that “they gave me here.” 

God forbid that he have the free-wheeling extensive press conferences that former President Donald Trump had, he has trouble with just these few pre-selected reporters  And you can see him with his prepared notes, getting those ready, so he can read answers off them. Can we ask again who the “they” are that telling the man who’s supposed to be the leader of the free world what to do?

It got worse when he got confused about whether he had called on the people he was supposed to.

“I’m just following my orders here,” Biden said. If you listen closely, you can hear people laughing. 

“Staff, is there anybody that hasn’t spoken yet?” Biden asked. He then snapped at someone he hadn’t called on who wasn’t on his list, “I ain’t calling on you.”

His policy comment on China is going to have more people wondering if he’s compromised or just clueless about the threats posed by China. 

That pretty much says it all right there. He doesn’t want to keep them in check, and he hasn’t. Which is why they have been so emboldened in their actions against us during his time in office. 

Then Biden seemed to forget that he was on camera and at the podium and wandered out of frame.

Then he got lost in the middle of this answer about global warming, even though he was reading from his notes. He still couldn’t get it right.

“How can I say it?” he said. ” “I think we can triple the renewable capacity for as it relates to global warming by the year 202030. 2030.” What year was that? And what does that even mean, tripling the renewable capacity for global warming? Whatever he meant to say, that wasn’t it. 

He admitted to one reporter he’d have trouble even with softball questions. 

Even five questions were too much for him. By the end, he was going off into “dog-faced pony soldier” land. This is truly embarrassing. 

He’s talked about this before, but no one can find the film that he’s talking about. Just another one of those things brewed up in the fertile imagination of Joe Biden. What a rambling mess.

Watch as his staff cuts off the press conference even as he’s still answering a question from the podium, that’s how bad it was going. I don’t think I’ve seen this before, cutting him off mid-word. The staff knew that he was completely off the tracks at this point, and they moved to step in. Then they play music to get him off the stage and cover up anything he might be saying. 

Somehow, with Biden, it always manages to keep getting worse. Unfortunately, this is happening on the world stage, and it’s endangering our national security.
