Despite Pride month being nearly two weeks away, Target has already rolled out LGBTQ sections in its stores and on its website. The retail giant is facing backlash for selling “tuck-friendly” bathing suits and LGBTQ onesies for babies.
Target offers 2,351 products in its Pride collection, including clothing, items for pets, home furnishings, stationery, books, music, and movies.
There are “gender fluid” mugs, “queer all year” calendars, “trans pride, trans power” cards, and Pride Milkbone dog treats.
There are books for children ages 4 to 8 titled: “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” “Bye Bye, Binary,” “The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag,” “The Gay, B, Cs,” and “Are You a Girl or Are You a Boy?“
Target’s Pride collection for babies and children features a baby onesie with bunnies, teddy bears, and mermaids proudly holding the LGBTQ flag. There is also a baby onesie featuring the colors of the so-called “Progress Pride flag,” which has the rainbow flag, but also represents people of color and the trans community.
Target also sells LGBTQ T-shirts celebrating drag queens and shirts that read: “Trans people will always exist,” “Support trans futures,” “Say gay,” “Homophobia, transphobia can be treated with education,” “Trans pride, trans power,” and “Sorry, can’t think straight.”
Target faces an inferno of criticism over a “tuck-friendly” Pride bathing suit. The tag on the swimsuit boasts about providing “tuck-friendly construction” and “extra crotch coverage.”
The over-the-top push of an LGBTQ agenda has some conservatives advocating customers ostracize Target, much like the boycott of Bud Light following the Dylan Mulvaney marketing debacle.
A year ago, Target garnered backlash after the retail chain began selling “pro-trans merchandise for children, as well as ‘chest binders’ and ‘packing underwear’ supposedly for adults.” Chest binders constrict a female’s breasts, and packing underwear provides a bulge to biological females to make it appear that they have a penis.
BlazeTV’s “Relatable” host, Allie Beth Stuckey — who started boycotting Target last year over its controversial Pride collection — delivered scathing commentary on the retail chain’s advocacy of transgender products.
