De-Transitioned Teen Sues Hospital, Medical Group for Double Mastectomy She Underwent at Just 13 Years Old

This is a horrendous account, which I doubt will be the last of its kind. An 18-year-old de-transitioned victim has filed a lawsuit accusing a hospital and medical group of “intentional fraud and concealment” for a double mastectomy she underwent at just 13 after she first identified as transgender at age 11.

As reported by Fox News, Layla Jane is suing Permanente Medical Group and subsidiary Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (headquartered in super-woke California), the medical providers who performed the double mastectomy. Moreover, Jane alleged in an interview that the doctors pushed her into the procedure and characterized her gender transition as the only way to treat her preexisting mental health problems.

I don’t think I should’ve been allowed to change my sex before I was legally able to have sex. I don’t think I’m better off for the experience, and I think transitioning just completely added fuel to the fire that was my preexisting conditions.

Not to be graphic — and I won’t — but lopping off the breasts (or testicles) of confused-at-best 13-year-olds should be a criminal offense. We’re not talking about politics, here; this is about immoral malpractice.

Jane said she previously struggled with mental health, including suicidal ideation, before deciding to transition going into adolescence.

Her attorney Harmeet Dhillon alleged Jane’s caregivers failed to administer the necessary mental health treatments before performing the double mastectomy and never informed her that 80% to 90% of teens eager to transition desist from doing so.

Jane’s lawsuit alleged doctors warned her of an increased risk of suicide if she failed to transition to male, adding that they gave her parents a binary option of living with a “live son” or suffering the consequence of having a “dead daughter.”

Again, if true, how can this irresponsible insanity not be criminal, immorality aside?

Dhillon said:

Informed consent was missing here. It is impossible for a child to give informed consent, and it is impossible for parents who are not fully informed and with a child that was not properly treated [cannot] also give that consent.

“I was given no information about rates of desistance or anything like that,” Jane agreed. “Really, the surgery and the treatments were kind of pushed as the only way forward.”

Moreover, Dhillon further asserted that Jane’s breasts cannot be reconstructed while slamming the push for gender-affirming care as “experimentation on America’s children.” Amen. What the hell else can sane people call the irreversible mutilation of a young girl or boy’s body? Let’s toss in chemical castration of boys, as well, while we’re at it.

Kaiser Permanente responded, in a statement provided to “The Ingraham Angle”:

Our physicians and multi-disciplinary care teams practice compassionate, evidence-based medicine founded on sound research and best medical practices to provide comprehensive services based on individual needs of each patient …

The care decisions always rest with the patient and their parents, and, in every case, we respect the patients’ and their families’ informed decisions about their personal health.

Nonsense. This should become a landmark case against the continuing obscenity of irreversible mutilation of young kids across America.

Incidentally, as we reported last Monday, Joe Biden had a “slightly” [sarc] different take on so-called gender reassignment surgery. In reference to the Florida Board of Medicine finalizing a rule to prohibit health providers in the state from offering so-called “gender-affirming care,” including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgeries, for transgender patients younger than 18.

What’s going on in Florida, as my mother would say, close to sinful. I mean, its just terrible what they’re— I mean, it’s not just like a kid wakes up one day and says, ‘You know, I decided I want to become man or I want to become a woman, or I want to change.’

Mumbling Biden of course has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about. Rather, he simply parrots the talking points shoved in front of him by left-wing handlers.

As reported by WebMD in March 2022, there’s a growing concern among many doctors and other healthcare professionals as to whether gender reassignment surgery is the best way to proceed for those under age 18, in particular, with several countries pulling back on medical treatment and instead emphasizing psychotherapy first.

Joe Biden and the Democrat Party beg to differ.

DeSantis Goes There, Shows Graphic Video of Effects of ‘Gender-Affirming’ Surgeries Alongside Biden Comments

As RedState’s Bonchie reported last week, Ron DeSantis expertly trolled media outlets by actually showing videos of books found in Florida public school libraries that contained sex and pornography. The news stations had to quickly kill their live feeds because you can’t show that stuff on television.

The obvious question: if it’s too saucy for an adult audience—why is it in our kids’ schools?

Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Governor’s response team—the Twitter account @DeSantisWarRoom—was it at again, taking footage of President Joe Biden lambasting the state for its policies on transgender surgeries and putting in a split-screen with videos showing some of the more benign steps of “gender-affirming surgery.”

WARNING: some of the images are graphic, so if you’re squeamish, beware.

It’s hard to watch:

What I’ve so often noticed is that when people on the left talk about these surgeries, they describe them as simply “gender-affirming” and no big deal, like choosing a different outfit or maybe having a little dental work. But as you can see from the videos above, many of these procedures are anything but minor, are frequently irreversible, and can lead to lifelong infertility and worse.

DeSantis’ team didn’t even show some of the more extreme genital procedures:

If adults want to put themselves through that, then it’s none of my business. Kids, however, should not be permanently surgically changing major parts of their anatomy until they’ve reached adulthood—isn’t it a stunning sign of the times when that’s even an argument?

One of my teen daughters went through a phase where she wanted to change her hair color seemingly every week. Guess what? She’s left that part of her life in the past, and there’s no permanent damage. Minors and teens have brains that aren’t fully developed; they go through many phases and shouldn’t be encouraged to permanently damage their bodies over what often turn out to be temporary desires. They will have to live with these decisions for the next 70-80 years or more.

Here’s Biden’s Monday night interview on Comedy Central that caused the DeSantis team to jump into action:

Fox News describes his comments:

“It’s just terrible what they’re doing,” Biden says in the video. “It’s not like, you know, a kid wakes up one morning and says, you know, I decided I wanted to become a man, or I want to become a woman. I mean, what are they thinking about?”

“They’re human beings,” the president added. “It’s cruel. And the way we do it is we make sure we pass legislation like we passed on same-sex marriage, you mess with that you’re breaking the law, and you’re gonna be held accountable.”

Biden didn’t specify what policies he was criticizing, but Florida recently joined a handful of states in banning gender-transition surgeries and treatments like puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors.

It’s really otherworldly to see an 80-year-old who’s been in political office since the 1970s telling the public that they’re “sinful” if they don’t support radical surgeries on kids. Remember, this is a guy who until very recently had nothing to say on the subject, and was against gay marriage until 2012—now he’s suddenly one of the most extreme voices on the left, constantly obsessing over sex and gender while he presides over one of the most destructive administrations in U.S. history.

DeSantis’ bold move in showing the actual costs of gender-changing surgery will predictably send leftists and activists into an absolute frenzy.

But all he’s showing is the truth.
