As Democrats from Capitol Hill to California have ignored — if not cheered on — the Biden Border Crisis™ from Day One, it’s been a “slightly” different story in Washington, D.C., and New York City of late, as Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has begun to ship busloads of illegal aliens to both cities.
Let’s just say the hypocritical histrionics have been hilarious.
As we reported on Saturday, Democrats haven’t given a damn about southern border states being flooded by illegals, and the danger many have posed to the population of affected states. Abbott being Abbott, and I say that in total agreement with the utmost respect, he brilliantly decided to teach the Democrats a lesson.
As my colleague Nick Arama noted in the aforementioned article, Abbott called NYC an “ideal destination” because, like the nation’s capital, NYC is a so-called “sanctuary city.”
I hope [NYC Mayor Eric Adams] follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.
Lo and behold, as wryly suggested by the Texas governor, Adams on early Sunday morning attempted to do just that: welcome illegal aliens to the Big Apple with open arms.
Just one problem.
By the time Adams arrived at the scene of his planned publicity stunt, Midtown’s Port Authority Bus Terminal, most of the illegals had already skedaddled. Even more humiliating, it was the embattled mayor himself who suggested, as reported by The New York Post, that the vast majority had skipped upon arrival, likely due to “fear,” he said, of violent crime in America’s once-greatest city.
The Post said it caught a heated conversation between Adams and organizers of the 7:00 a.m. event:
We were led to believe about 40 people should have been on that bus. Only 14 got off. And we are concerned about that because we don’t want people being dropped off [just] anywhere.
Do you mean like in every Texas and Arizona border town, Mr. Mayor? Or more like Biden shipping government planeloads of illegals across the county in the dead of night without notifying state or local officials of their arrival?
“We’ve got to work together — we’re not on different sides here, we have to work together,” Adams told an unidentified woman, who abruptly turned and walked off, said the Post.
It gets even more hilarious.
Adams complained about the lack of communication from Abbott, who has been shipping illegal migrants to Democrat regions to ease what he aptly calls a “crisis caused” by “open border policies.”
They’re not letting us know when the buses are leaving. They’re not letting us know what are the needs of the people on the bus. They are not giving us any information so we’re unable to really provide the service to people en route. We would like to get that information.
The hypocrisy is profound. As I referenced earlier, Biden has routinely shipped–unannounced– planeloads of illegals across America. For example, as we reported in November 2021, the office of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed more than 70 flights of illegal aliens, from the southern border to Jacksonville, had landed “in the dark of night” in recent months — with zero warning to Florida officials. Similar flights to other states, including New York, abound.
It gets even more hypocritical, too.
The New York Post asked Eric Adams if he has asked or plans to ask Biden or federal agencies to change the open-border policy and stop the endless flow of illegal border crossers from entering the country. “Shockingly,” Adams said he has no interest in doing so.
No. As the mayor of the city of New York, I don’t weigh into immigration issues, or border issues — I have to provide services for families that are here. I’m proud that this is a right-to-shelter state. And we are going to continue to do that.
Yeah, I got nothin’.
The bottom line:
How does a sane rational person have an intelligent conversation with a leftist? Particularly when they spew hypocritical crap like the above that even they must know is hypocritical crap?
You can’t — they must be removed from office, one election at a time.
Are they insane? No. Are Democrats the most hypocritical people on the planet? Oh, hell yeah.
