Media Claims ‘Largely Peaceful Protest’ in Atlanta, Mayor Quickly Demolishes That

Saturday night brought rioting by Antifa people attacking police targets in Atlanta.

Now, the night started with a protest against the police, in the memory of one of their comrades, Manuel Teran. Teran had been shot and killed by the police after he allegedly shot a cop, when police came to clear protesters out of an area they had been occupying where the city is constructing a police training center. The radicals have had several people, in multiple incidents, arrested for domestic terrorism at the site, including for throwing Molotov cocktails at the police.

Notice how everyone is dressed in black and masked up — this isn’t a protest that accidentally devolved into a riot. It’s like most Antifa actions; it’s a ‘protest’ in anticipation of the riot, as people break away and then attack things.

It soon went violent, with Antifa attacking the Atlanta Police Foundation building, as well as police vehicles and other businesses. They set at least one police car on fire.

But what was incredible was that even as the local news was covering it, we had something of a throwback to the “mostly peaceful protest” comments of CNN and MSNBC in 2020. Listen as the local reporter talks about the “largely peaceful protest,” even with the violence and the flames in the background.

Yeah, not so much. Their declared purpose had been retaliation and violence. They made that clear with their announcements. Yet, the reporter doesn’t note that. Not only does he butcher the name of the radical who was killed, whose nickname was “Tortuguita,” but the reporter leaves out the rather important fact that “Tortuguita” (who went by they/it pronouns) allegedly shot a cop and critically injured a police officer before he was shot in self-defense.

But it looks like Antifa in their “mostly peaceful” endeavors may have interfered in that report of them attacking the Atlanta Police Foundation building, as the report suddenly cuts off as you see explosive fireworks going off around them.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens wasn’t going along with any of these “mostly peaceful” characterizations. He pointed out that most of these folks were outside agitators who didn’t even live in Atlanta or hail from the state of Georgia. As we’ve said, they’re from all over the country. “They don’t represent the voices of Atlanta,” Mayor Andre Dickens said. He said some of them were found with explosives.

“Yes, you heard that correctly, explosives,” Dickens said. That led to a police officer’s car being set on fire, Dickens explained. “Make no mistake about it, these individuals meant harm to people and to property.”

I think he just put paid to the “mostly peaceful” lie. Good for Dickens for making straight-up remarks, and not going easy on these characters.

Antifa Attacks Atlanta Police Foundation, Police Cars—But It Doesn’t End Well for Them

Leftist radicals and Antifa people called for a “night of rage” for Friday night, in response to the killing of a radical protester, Manuel Teran. Teran was reportedly shot and killed in Atlanta, Georgia, after he allegedly shot a police officer without warning when the police came to “clear” the leftist occupation of an area under construction to be a police training center.

Their calls for a “night of rage” seemed to fail on Friday when, apart from a couple of “vigils” here and there, there was no violence to speak of directed at police across the country as they had wished.

However, on Saturday, they tried to put some of that violence into action against the police in Atlanta. First, they marched with signs, including one that said, “They can’t kill us all.” Are they all intending to shoot at cops?

Then some of them broke off and attacked the Atlanta Police Foundation with rocks and fireworks. They also spray-painted graffiti on the building.

Radicals also attacked two police cars and set at least one on fire.

“Atlanta Police officers have responded to a group damaging property at several locations along Peachtree [Street],” the Atlanta PD said in a statement Saturday, according to Fox 5. Several arrests have been made at this time and order has been restored to the downtown space. This is still an active and ongoing investigation and we will not be able to provide specifics on arrests numbers or property damaged, at this time.”

Here were some of the arrests. Play stupid games, and win stupid prizes.

Here, the arrested woman claims she “can’t breathe,” even though she’s standing up and no one is preventing her from breathing.

She’s read too many leftist talking points, I think.

Meanwhile, the police released a picture of the gun that Teran allegedly used to shoot the police officer.

But facts don’t matter to Antifa and the radical “forest defenders” — they think they are right and their violence is justified.

Police on ‘High Alert’ After Antifa Threat of ‘Night of Rage, Twitter Takes Action

Atlanta police are now on “high alert” in the wake of radical leftist and Antifa groups calling for a “Night of Rage.”

The radical group has been occupying an autonomous zone in a forest slated to be the site of a new police training center. The group has been there for months, with radicals coming from all around the country occupying the area. There have been multiple violent incidents in which their members have allegedly attacked the police and other locals, including with Molotov cocktails. Six members were arrested in December and charged with domestic terrorism among other charges.

But on Wednesday, law enforcement went into the area to help move the people occupying the area out and they were fired upon, with one officer being shot. The police then returned fire, killing Manuel Teran.

Seven people were arrested and face domestic terrorism charges. Those arrested came from out of state from all around the country to be involved in the action.

Antifa accounts posted remembrances of Teran, who they also said used the pronouns “they/it.”

In response, the “forest defender” and Antifa accounts called for violent action against the police.

At least one of the accounts, Scenes from the Atlanta Forest, was suspended by Twitter for threatening violence against the police.

But there were still some other accounts that Twitter hasn’t gotten to yet calling for violence against police. Accounts included those from Pittsburgh, Portland, Seattle, and Florida calling for action on behalf of their “martyred” comrade. (Click on the tweet to enlarge it.)

The police have not released the name of the officer who was shot because they’re concerned about the threats being leveled against the police.

Police noted that they were aware of the “night of rage” threat.

“Our officers are on high alert, and we will continue our work to keep our streets safe for our residents, businesses, and visitors alike.” Atlanta police said in a statement Thursday. “We remain in close contact with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners and are grateful for their commitment to our shared goal of creating the safest communities possible for our city.”

I keep wondering where the FBI is on things like this when it’s been going on for months, organized, with groups/people coming in from all over the country, yet they don’t seem to have been able to shut them down, or hold them accountable. At least the folks in Georgia are taking it seriously and hanging big charges on those who have been arrested.
