On a day that might be the busiest traffic day of the 2023 Christmas shopping season, pro-Hamas activists have decided it’s a good time to block the Manhattan Bridge in New York.
Videos from the action show protesters demonstrating with a sit-in on the road leading to the suspension bridge, which crosses the East River and connects Manhattan and Brooklyn. (In fact, because it’s close to the Brooklyn Bridge, it’s often used as an alternate route by commuters.)

Readers likely saw radical activists supporting Hamas harassing President Joe Biden on vacation over the weekend, in Nantucket in RedState’s previous coverage. There was also a student on the University of Michigan campus, who told a Washington Post reporter that she and her friends have started calling him “Genocide Joe” for supporting Israel.
Much like Sunday’s event, pro-Hamas protesters in Los Angeles admitted one purpose of it was to stifle Black Friday shopping.
BREAKING: 1,500 Jews, Palestinians, rabbis, imams, pastors, parents, and elected officials for a ceasefire are risking arrest at the Manhattan Bridge.

The NY Post spoke to one of the members of Jewish Voice for Peace, which organized the protest. Jay Saper said:
Business as usual cannot continue, as thousands of Palestinians are trapped under the rubble.
We’ve gathered to raise our voices for a permanent and lasting ceasefire. The majority of Americans are with us, polling shows that.
We’re elevating the voices of New Yorkers who are calling for a ceasefire.
But people just trying to commute to or from work were peeved by the hold-up on such a major thoroughfare as the Manhattan Bridge:
“Oh hell no — I have to get across the bridge!” Pam Allen, a fashion model on her way to a show in Brooklyn, told The Post. “I’m all for peace, but this right here, this is a problem.”
“I get it, I understand the message,” she continued. “But this solves nothing!”
“I’m just trying to get home after working all night!” lamented one person who was driving a commercial van. “This makes me mad. How do I get home?”
Another journalist who covered the protest at the bridge was Nancy Rommelmann, who writes for Reason. In a video she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Rommelmann tries to interview a male participant in the Manhattan Bridge demonstration.
A few interesting things happen in the video. First, the guy tries to say she can’t record him. Then, as she starts to ask him a question, a woman–who appears to be a minder/group leader of some sort–tries to get between the journalist and the man. Listen as she creepily asks if her “comrade” needs help. I’m no expert in these things, but doesn’t that sound like a preplanned tactic meant to thwart media.trying to cover what’s happening?
After a few seconds, the man does agree to be interviewed away from where he had been standing. But it’s no use talking to someone like this, as he starts to spew the usual talking points about “occupation” and wanting a ceasefire by Israel.
The journalist isn’t having it. Watch how easily Rommelmann shuts him down:
Base of Manhattan Bridge, yelling at “comrades” blocking the roadway. Am I sorry for coming in all hot? Maybe a little. These folks, despite cockamamie factoids, were way nicer than PDX protesters, incl. a sweet girl who later told me why she feels what she’s doing is important pic.twitter.com/z2ZMfsYdU2

Brava! This is why journalists outside the legacy media need to keep recording what the progressive left is doing. It seems like a trite saying but it’s true: All those of us with common sense need to do to defeat the Left is to let them keep talking, and exposing their true ideas and agendas. You know RedState is in your corner, and we’ll keep tabs on this story.
One sure way to combat the nonsense, misstatements, and incompetence from the Biden administration, the Democrat Party, and their allies in the legacy media, is to support RedState through our VIP subscription program.
