DeSantis admin targets liquor license after venue allegedly allowed minors to attend raunchy drag show

“The Show also contained sexually explicit themes and prurient content presented through sexualized adaptions of popular children’s Christmas songs,” the complaint alleges.

The department had warned that action would be taken if minors were permitted to attend the performance.

“To avoid action being taken against your license, it is your obligation to ensure that minors are prohibited from attending the Drag Fans drag show. If minors are allowed to attend this drag show, the Department will take any and all actions available to ensure that you do not pose a threat to minors in the future,” DBPR secretary Melanie Griffin warned the Orlando Philharmonic Plaza Foundation, Inc. in the December 28 note. The drag show was held at the Plaza Live venue in Orlando, Florida.

But the complaint alleges that minors were permitted to attend the performance.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin said in a statement that “the Department is revoking the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.”

The outlet also indicated that DBPR spokesperson Beth Pannell noted that the venue may keep selling alcohol “until final action is taken by the agency in accordance with Florida’s Administrative Procedure Act.”

Nebraska Dem tries to ‘make a point’ with proposal to punish those who bring kids to ‘religious indoctrination camp’

“This is an amendment that I will use to make a point about the underlying bill, LB371, which bans all-ages drag shows. It won’t pass, I would withdraw it if it had the votes to pass. It’s a device to make a point. We need not clench nor worry,” Hunt tweeted. “People are making a lot of the fact that I’m just trying to bring some levity to my work. Wow,” she wrote in another tweet.

The drag-related bill that Hunt is criticizing would punish people and businesses for allowing young people to attend drag shows.

“No individual under nineteen years of age shall be present at a drag show. Any person nineteen years of age or older who knowingly brings an individual under nineteen years of age to a drag show shall be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor,” the bill states in part. “No individual under twenty-one years of age shall be present at a drag show if alcoholic liquor is being served at such location.”

The proposal also stipulates that businesses, establishments, or nonprofits that host a drag event but fail to abide by the age-limit rules will be slapped with a $10,000 fine per violation — the measure indicates that if the owner or officer of an entity knowingly permits someone below the age limit to attend a drag show, that person would “be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor.”

Hunt’s amendment calls for blocking youth from “religious indoctrination camp,” which the proposal defines as “a camp, vacation Bible study, retreat, lock-in, or convention held by a church, youth group, or religious organization for the purpose of indoctrinating children with a specific set of religious beliefs.”

“The Legislature finds that there is a well-documented history of indoctrination and sexual abuse perpetrated by religious leaders and clergy people upon children. Abusers within churches and other religious institutions often use events like church or youth-group-sponsored camps and retreats to earn children’s trust and gain unsupervised access to such children in order to commit such abuse,” a portion of Hunt’s amendment reads.

“No individual under nineteen years of age shall be present at a religious indoctrination camp. Any person nineteen years of age or older who knowingly brings an individual under nineteen years of age to a religious indoctrination camp shall be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor,” Hunt’s amendment states. “No individual under twenty-one years of age shall be present at a religious indoctrination camp if alcoholic liquor is being served at such location, regardless if such alcoholic liquor is being served as part of a religious ceremony.”

Hunt has previously asserted that gun ownership is not a “God-given right.”

“Owning a gun isn’t a ‘God-given right.’ It’s a slave-owning, misogynistic founding father-given right. I’m not against 2a, but be real – the Constitution was written by people!” Hunt tweeted last year.

Video: BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales exposes family-friendly drag show where children collect tips, performer toasts those who ‘lick us where we pee’

BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales exposed a family-friendly bingo and drag show in Princeton, Texas. Video recorded by Gonzales shows children scooping up tip money for the drag show performers.

Princeton TX Diverse presented a “Beauty and the Bingo” drag show at the Steve & Judy Deffibaugh Community Center on Saturday afternoon. Tickets were $20.

Princeton TX Diverse is an organization that believes “everyone is welcome here, no matter their age, color, disability, economic standing, ethnicity, family status, gender, genetic information, national origin, neurodiversity, marital status, race, sexual orientation, spiritual identity, or veteran status.”

Gonzales – the host of “The News & Why It Matters” podcast – attended the drag show event. She recorded eye-opening footage and shared video on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Video shows a bearded performer raising a beer bottle and urging the attendees to make a toast. The drag show performer acknowledges that there are children in attendance, but continues with the risqué toast anyway.

The drag show performer tells the crowd, “So raise your glasses. Cheers to you, cheers to me, cheers to the ones who lick us where we pee.”

Footage shows the drag show performers executing salacious dance moves while dressed in provocative outfits.

At one point, a drag show performer throws dollar bills into the air. Three children rush to the floor and collect the tip money.

The announcer says of the children, “And thank you to our little helpers running up here picking up her money. That right there is our future.”

Gonzales was kicked out of the “Beauty and the Bingo” show. However, the drag show was broadcast on the official Facebook page for Princeton TX Diverse.

In the past few months, there have been numerous LGBTQ events in Texas that have involved children.

In December, an “all-ages” event titled “The Island of Misfit Toys Drive & Drag Show” was held in San Antonio. The show included a screening of the Christmas classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

In November, a bookstore in Denton hosted a “transgender storytime” for children. BlazeTV personality Alex Stein mocked Antifa members who were guarding the event.

In June, a Texas gay bar hosted a “Drag the Kids to Pride” event where drag queen dancers provocatively gyrated in front of children as young as toddlers. The promoters labeled the event as the “ultimate family-friendly pride experience.”
