LEVIN: Left's rabid war on babies threatens collapse of Supreme Court

The attack on our culture continues as we watch the firestorm rage over a leaked Supreme Court draft decision that could overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade case.

Politico — a left-wing website set up by a former Washington Post reporter and a mostly left-wing operation in Washington DC — ran the story that caused an explosion of speculation from armchair constitutional “experts.”

In this clip, Mark takes you inside the unprecedented leak of a confidential Supreme Court document regarding Roe v. Wade and illustrates how it threatens to permanently cripple the Supreme Court. In the battle for the unborn, the left has stooped to a new low.

The leaker is likely someone who wants the Supreme Court’s authority to be an election issue in November, but Mark says “there’s a bigger picture here.”

Remember when the New York Post ran the Hunter Biden story just before the 2020 election? Where was Politico’s coverage there? The media dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story and had dozens of intelligence officials dismiss the story as “Russian disinformation.”

Why was the Biden laptop story dismissed? Mark speculated that the media likely covered up for Joe Biden by refusing to report accurately and substantively on Hunter’s laptop. Instead, Politico attacked the New York Post, Fox News, and conservative talk radio hosts for reporting the story.

“Politico did everything it could to cover it up and censor it. Then, this leak happens, and Politico didn’t censor it at all,” Mark said.

Delaware computer shop owner who blew whistle on Hunter Biden laptop takes legal action against Schiff, media

The computer repairman who brew the whistle on the Hunter Biden laptop scandal is taking action against politicians and media outlets that falsely accused him of being part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

What is the background?

After the New York Post broke the laptop story just weeks before the 2020 presidential election, Democrats and the media worked overtime to dismiss the story as Russian disinformation.

For example, the media peddled a letter from more than 50 former “senior intelligence officials” that claimed, without evidence, the laptop story had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, however, quickly disputed these claims, explicitly saying the laptop was “not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.” Still, the media doubted the veracity of the story until news outlets began quietly authenticating the contents of the laptop hard drive.

What is happening now?

John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Delaware computer shop, filed a defamation lawsuit on Tuesday against Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), CNN, Politico, and the Daily Beast, the New York Post reported.

Mac Isaac purportedly took possession of the laptop in 2019 after it was dropped off at his repair shop but never retrieved. The FBI took possession of the computer in December 2019, but Mac Isaac retained a copy of the hard drive. He then gave a copy to Rudy Giuliani, who provided it to the New York Post.

Mac Isaac filed the lawsuit in Montgomery County, Maryland. His attorney, Brian Della Rocca, told the New York Post that his client is seeking “at least $1 million in compensatory damages [and] punitive damages which will be the much bigger number and will be determined at trial.” Mac Isaac was forced to close his business and temporarily move after the story broke.

Specifically, Mac Isaac accuses Schiff of sharing “with CNN and its viewers a complete and utter lie” when he told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer after the laptop story broke that the “whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin.”

The lawsuit accuses CNN of broadcasting a “false and defamatory story” that essentially amounted to accusing Mac Isaac of “committing an infamous crime, i.e., treason by working with the Russians to commit a crime against the United States of America by attempting to undermine American democracy and the 2020 Presidential election.”

Meanwhile, the lawsuit knocks the Daily Beast for describing the laptop hard drive as being “purloined” and targets Politico for the story about the former intelligence officials who claimed the laptop was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Rocca told the Post that Mac Isaac “suffered immensely at the false statements spread about those who brought the information on Hunter Biden’s laptop to everyone’s attention.

“He has lost his business, friendships, and his honorable standing in his community. This lawsuit is to attempt to repair a small portion of that damage caused by the defendants in the suit,” the lawyer explained. “We intend to show that their actions were intentionally malicious.”

Chief Justice John Roberts confirms authenticity of bombshell SCOTUS leak

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday confirmed the authenticity of a draft majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that would overturn court precedent on abortion rights established in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. The draft opinion was first reported by Politico Monday night.

“Yesterday, a news organization published a copy of a draft opinion in a pending case. Justices circulate draft opinions internally as a routine and essential part of the Court’s confidential deliberative work. Although the document described in yesterday’s report is authentic, it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case,” the Supreme Court said in a statement.

Roberts called the unprecedented leak a “betrayal” and announced that he has ordered an investigation to find the source .

“To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. The work of the Court will not be affected in any way,” Roberts said.

“We at the Court are blessed to have a workforce — permanent employees and law clerks alike — intensely loyal to the institution and dedicated to the rule of law. Court employees have an exemplary and important tradition of respecting the confidentiality of the judicial process and upholding the trust of the Court. This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here,” the chief justice continued.

“I have directed the Marshal of the Supreme Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak,” he said.

On Monday night, Politico shocked the political world by publishing a draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito for the case concerning Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban.

Alito’s draft is a no-holds-barred takedown of the court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade and the subsequent 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which affirmed a constitutional right for a woman to seek an abortion.

“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” the draft opinion declares. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

Politico reported that this draft opinion was circulated among the justices in February and is not the final opinion the court is expected to release sometime in the next two months. Reporters Josh Gerstein and Alexander Ward wrote that they “received a copy of the draft opinion from a person familiar with the court’s proceedings in the Mississippi case along with other details supporting the authenticity of the document.”

Politico quotes reporter saying that 'Jawing with Jen [Psaki] just makes you look like an asshole'

Politico quoted a journalist as saying that “Jawing with” White House press secretary Jen Psaki “makes you look like an asshole.”

The reporter indicated that covering the White House is “less rewarding” than it was during the Trump administration.

“Jen [Psaki] is very good at her job, which is unfortunate,” the reporter said, according to Politico. “And the work is a lot less rewarding, because you’re no longer saving democracy from Sean Spicer and his Men’s Wearhouse suit. Jawing with Jen just makes you look like an asshole.”

The outlet did not give the identity of the reporter who made the remarks.

Spicer served as then-President Donald Trump’s White House press secretary during the first six months of the administration.

Psaki has served as the White House press secretary since the beginning of the Biden administration.

“The Washington Press Corp is like a herd of zombies,” someone tweeted.

“We could replace the entire White House press corps with the savviest non-pro-media people on Twitter, and while a few journos’ contributions would be missed, the overall caliber of public discourse and journalistic seriousness would skyrocket,” someone else remarked .

Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Eliana Johnson tagged Politico White House reporter Max Tani, the author of the Politico piece, and asked Tani to “please unmask the identity of the idiot who told you this.”
