Elon Musk Lights Up Joe Biden Over His Priorities in One Brutal Tweet

March 23, 2023 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Joe Biden has made it clear that in his administration, the radical left agenda is going to trump all common sense and will take precedence over what is in the best interests of the American people.

So at a time when most people are being crushed by inflation, worried about the economy, and concerned about what’s happening with banks that have gone under, here’s what Joe Biden had to say.

In my first year in office, we protected more lands and waters than any president since John F. Kennedy.

We’ve also made the largest investment to fight climate change – ever.

Today, we’re building on that momentum by protecting additional natural wonders. pic.twitter.com/bMwc915fuG

— President Biden (@POTUS) March 22, 2023

“In my first year in office, we protected more lands and waters than any president since John F. Kennedy,” Biden said. “We’ve also made the largest investment to fight climate change – ever. Today, we’re building on that momentum by protecting additional natural wonders.”

“Largest investment…ever” means spending like drunken sailors for our climate agenda, masked as “inflation reduction” while the spending makes the inflation worse. That should be the number one priority for him right now. But instead, he continues to do everything to make it worse and his administration doesn’t even accept the reality that such overspending makes inflation worse.

Meanwhile, as some noted, if Biden is so concerned about protecting lands and waters, what’s happened to his response to the environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio from the train derailment and the chemicals that have affected the area and the people? His first response was that he did a “whole video” about it and “who’s zoomin’ who.” His staff then later said he was going to visit the area which he still hasn’t done.

He’s just full of it. He’s been missing, concentrating more on things like climate change and giving all our money to Ukraine. He also doesn’t seem to care much about protecting the land when it comes to protecting the border which is in such a severe crisis with a record-high influx of illegal aliens and massive amounts of fentanyl flooding across the border. Yet Biden just seems to ignore the crisis.

Biden also perhaps forgets the history of people invoking John F. Kennedy. You are no John Kennedy, sir. If Kennedy were teleported into today from 1962, he probably wouldn’t even recognize the Democratic Party. Kennedy would be considered far to the right, by today’s standards.

But Elon Musk was having none of Biden’s propaganda and let him know that he thought that his priorities were in the wrong place.

Umm … the banks are melting

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) March 23, 2023

“Umm…the banks are melting,” Musk said.

Musk is right that Biden is not focusing on the right things, although I don’t know if I exactly agree that more than a few banks are “melting.” The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank was due in part to the Federal Reserve raising rates because of inflation which was in part due to Biden’s excessive spending. No wonder Biden doesn’t want to talk about that. The banks that have collapsed are a limited number, but the concern is that it could also hit other regional banks.

Bottom line? Biden needs to be called out more like this and it’s great that he’s just throwing it up in Biden’s face. Biden is just completely unconcerned about how much his actions have adversely affected the economy and the American people, and he seems intent on continuing all the bad policy and spending that led to the problems in the first place.

Inflation Cools in February as Federal Reserve Weighs Options After Bank Failures

March 14, 2023 by Joe Cunningham Leave a Comment

The Consumer Price Index numbers are out for February, and once again the numbers do look good on the inflation front. But that good news comes on the heels of a multi-bank failure that could threaten the Federal Reserve’s plan to continue interest rate hikes to continue fighting inflation.

CPI shows inflation grew 6 percent annually in February, down from 6.4 percent in January. It’s a promising sign for an economy that has had its ups and downs – though certainly more ups in recent weeks. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices from the measurement, was up 5.5 percent annually in February versus 5.6 percent in January.

More from the Wall Street Journal:

Prices rose 0.4% in February over the prior month versus a 0.5% increase in January. Core prices increased by 0.5% in February compared with a 0.4% monthly gain in January.

Consumers paid less last month to heat their homes, and prices for medical services and used cars fell as well. Gasoline and food prices both increased, but at a slower pace than they did in January. Shelter costs increased 0.8% over the month.

These signs would point to the Federal Reserve keeping its aggressive rate hikes going – probably at half a percent at their meeting next week – but recent financial crises at multiple banks could give them pause.

Year-over-year inflation has cooled from a recent peak last June, but has remained stubbornly high. That combined with a strong labor market and solid consumer spending introduced the possibility that the Fed could raise its benchmark interest rate by a half-percentage-point at its March 21-22 meeting, after opting for a smaller increase in early February. But the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and other financial institutions in recent days complicated that decision. The central bank may move more cautiously to assess the state of the financial system.

The Fed’s goal of getting inflation at or below 2 percent is their overriding concern, but fears that their aggressive rate hikes could be breaking the financial industry are causing panic in the marketplace. However, it seems like stock market believes the situation is pretty well contained, as there hasn’t been a major crash yet for the major banks.

Yesterday’s run on First Republic bank appears to have been largely due to a large number of tech industry accounts at the bank. But the big firms are not showing any signs of crisis, and First Republic has regained a lot of value at the opening bell this morning.

That may be enough to keep the Fed on track to raise the interest rate by half a percent, rather than slowing down to just a quarter point.

Wage growth is showing signs of slowing down, according to the most recent jobs report. And while the economy did impress with more than 300,000 jobs created, that was a major slowdown from the half a million jobs created in January, pointing to a cooling on the labor side of the market – all of which is in line with what the Fed wants to see.

Democrat Senator Who Asked for Government Censorship Over Bank Collapses Gets Exposed

March 13, 2023 by Bonchie Leave a Comment

A recent conference call involving congressional members from both parties got a little weird after a Democrat senator asked whether the federal government could censor information on social media to prevent a run on US banks. The call, which was held with Biden administration officials (Federal Reserve, Treasury Department, and FDIC), was a question-and-answer session covering the recent collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank.

Rep. Thomas Massie first revealed the concerning question immediately after the call, and now, we know who asked it. According to Michael Shellenberger (most recently of Twitter Files fame), it was Sen. Mark Kelly, the recently re-elected Democrat from Arizona.

During a conference call about the Silicon Valley Bank bailout yesterday, Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) asked representatives from the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department, and the Federal Deposit and Insurance Corporation (FDIC) if they had a way to censor information on social media to prevent a run on the banks, according to Republican members of the House of Representatives who were on the call.

The members said there were roughly 200 people on the Zoom call, including Senators, House members, and staff members from both parties. “On our conference call, led by [Senate President Chuck] Schumer, with Fed, FDIC, and Treasury, a democrat senator asked the three agencies if there was a program underway on social media to censor information that would lead to a bank run,” Rep. Thomas Massie told Public.

“I believe he couched it in a concern that foreign actors would be doing this,” said Massie, “but he didn’t suggest the censorship should be limited to foreigners or to things that were untrue. The people from the three agencies couldn’t answer him and just sort of took a pass on the question.”

Kelly is a former astronaut, so I don’t believe he’s stupid. Still, I’m at a loss as to what he was thinking when he asked that question of the Biden officials on the call. Why would the federal government, under any circumstance, have the ability to directly censor information on social media? Even with the recent revelations of the Twitter Files, the censorship was done by proxy through government pressure.

Massie offered further context, saying that Kelly may have meant his question in the context of foreign actors. But should that matter? If the government can censor information on a whim, even under the guise of pushing back on foreign interference, that is a power that will undoubtedly be abused. We have ample evidence of that given the FBI’s involvement in the censorship of the Hunter Biden story, which was not foreign disinformation.

The Democratic Party’s flirtation with tyranny should concern everyone. It’s no longer just the domain of the fringe. Mainline, even “moderate” Democrats are now suggesting that the government should have total power over online speech, making decisions on censorship without any due process or constitutional authority. That they justify such with yet more rantings about foreign interference only makes it worse. If you can justify censorship of information by blaming American adversaries, then you can justify censorship of just about anything. There is no limiting principle.

Kelly should take a step back and think about what he’s asking for and whether he truly understands the ramifications. Further, Arizonans should seriously contemplate the caliber of the elected officials they’ve been electing recently. Kelly is an empty suit at best, never mind the election of now-Gov. Katie Hobbs. The republic can’t last if the federal government becomes as all-powerful as Democrats obviously want it to become.
