Schumer Shows What a Coward He Is Regarding Tucker’s J6 Coverage

March 8, 2023 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Tucker Carlson’s release of video footage and coverage of the Jan. 6 riot is driving the Democrats and their fellow travelers to distraction. They’re so upset that there is anything that contradicts the carefully curated narrative that they have been selling for more than two years.

We saw Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) completely losing his mind on the Senate floor, even demanding that Fox owner Rupert Murdoch shut Carlson’s further coverage down “because our democracy depends on it.” Our “democracy” depends upon shutting down free speech and letting the public know more about what happened that day? What a bizarre way to claim you care about “democracy” — by wanting to suppress speech. But it shows what a panic they are in.

Schumer wasn’t finished there. But his subsequent comment — meant to attack Tucker Carlson — just showed what a coward he is. He said he was invited to go on Tucker’s show but he would go only under one condition.

I was invited on Tucker Carlson’s show.

I will agree to go on after Tucker Carlson admits to his viewers live on air that he has been lying to them about the 2020 elections and about what happened on January 6th.

— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) March 8, 2023

He said he would only go on if Carlson admitted he lied about the 2020 election and Jan. 6.

Translation: It’s never happening because Chuck can’t deal.

Given how Tucker responded to the tantrums thrown about his coverage on Tuesday — mocking the media meltdown and taking Schumer apart — I think we know he will laugh his head off at this response from Schumer. Tucker didn’t need to invite him, but he was giving him a chance to air what he wanted to say.

The fact that Schumer doesn’t have the courage to do it and answer real questions shows you all you need to know. What a feckless character he is. He just wants to threaten Fox and Carlson, without having to stand up for what he’s saying. He already made it clear that he thinks he has the right to tell media what to do — he said exactly that. Forget about the First Amendment or “You know, the thing.” He completely folds like a cheap suit.

People called out Chuck and laughed at him for his cowardice. He was ratioed into next week for his tweet.

I was invited on Tucker Carlson’s show.

I will agree to go on after Tucker Carlson admits to his viewers live on air that he has been lying to them about the 2020 elections and about what happened on January 6th.

— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) March 8, 2023

This is f’ing hilarious https://t.co/odydShH8OE

The Real Problem With Tucker Carlson’s January 6 Footage

March 8, 2023 by Kira Davis Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell joined congressional colleagues like Chuck Schumer in condemning Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for releasing and framing footage from the January 6, 2021 events at the Capitol. McConnell said his take on the issue is aligned with that of the U.S. Capitol Police Chief. He did not appreciate Carlson playing other video that showed peaceful protesters being escorted into the Capitol by police, given tours, and generally left alone to wander peacefully as they snapped photos and even prayed in the chambers.

“It was a mistake in my view for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at Capitol thinks.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer accused House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy of helping Fox News stoke conspiracy theories by providing videos that were used by the cable network to portray the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters as peaceful https://t.co/f0kq0ReAa2 pic.twitter.com/bt4tx0qVuO

— Reuters (@Reuters) March 8, 2023

My colleague Teri Christoph noted an issue with his statement that made me holler.

Mitch, please. What if the truth is hiding somewhere in that “variance?” McConnell’s lack of curiosity about the truth could be the sign of an old man who’s spent far too much time in DC

It is the use of the word ‘depict’ that ruffles my feathers. I find it to be a very telling word. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word ‘depict’ means “to represent by, or as if by a picture” or to “describe.”

It is word for telling a story, and all stories have a storyteller.

McConnell may have thought he was simply saying he thinks the Capitol protests were a Very Bad Thing™, but I heard what he (and so many others like him) really thinks. He means he didn’t like THE STORY Tucker Carlson was telling with the new footage. THE STORY already had its tellers. THE STORY had already been framed. THE STORY had already been written. How dare Carlson come in with rewrites? Who approved him to retell THE STORY?

And isn’t that the big takeaway here? McConnell basically admitted that the J6 footage we’ve been seeing for two years is really a story, and not an objective set of facts. If it had been just the facts, there wouldn’t be any controversy about the new footage being released. It never would have been secret in the first place. Like old Twitter threatening to benevolently “add context” to Trump’s tweets for the benefit of their incurious audience, McConnell and company have decided for the rest of us how January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol should be viewed and observed.

It was such a benign but chilling word in this context…depict.

The truth shall set you free – if that is more than a cliche, we’ll know what “story” to believe by how free it makes us. I’m not saying that there weren’t some bad actors at the Capitol that day. I’m not saying that the Tucker Carlson “narrative” is the narrative of that day. What I am saying is that one depiction has ended with a lot of innocent people in jail (unfree, as it were), and has depended on keeping video evidence out of the hands of the general public. The other “narrative” opens up the evidence and the conversation. The other “narrative” would probably had resulted in way fewer jail sentences had it been available to the public.

We should always be leery of men who tell us knowing things is bad for us.

I’ve told this story before, but I’ll tell it again, because it sits in my spirit and tweaks my conscience at one point or another nearly every work day.

I once, many years ago (too long ago to have made the proper mental notes about title or names) saw a fantastic documentary on The History Channel on the making of the Berlin Wall. It may surprise those of you who even remember what that looked like that it had an architect. Someone actually designed that monstrosity. Someone recorded an interview with that man just before he died…perhaps the early 90s. He was old and cantankerous. He clearly was not pleased with the fall of communism.

The interviewer must have asked him why East Germany felt it was necessary to put a wall between their nation and West Germany (for you kids – Germany was one Germany, and then it was two, before it was one again). I will never forget his words. I’m not even sure I was a conservative at the time I heard them, it was so long ago. I just remember that they made me feel cold. He said – and I’m paraphrasing to the best of my failing memory, here – “We had to build the wall, so the people could see that socialism works. The people kept leaving, running away, but socialism can’t work without the people, so we had to find a way to keep them in. And then if they would just give it a chance, they could see how great socialism can be.”

This is the attitude of the gatekeepers. They are the ones who believe they have to build the walls around you so that you’ll be forced to sit still long enough to see their plan works, their ideas are the best, and their intentions are right. Once you see that, the walls will melt away. Of course, they’ll melt away not because they’ve been removed, but because you’ve been retrained to see them as blankets instead. They don’t trap you, they warm you.

McConnell’s comments are the comments of a gatekeeper. Perhaps his intentions aren’t nearly as nefarious as that communist architect, but the idea behind them is just as dangerous. He could have supported the values of free speech and transparency while still saying he disagreed with the “new story.”

Instead, he complained about the storyteller, and the fact that anyone else gets to tell a piece of the story at all.

And that is scary as hell.

Tucker Mocks Media Meltdown, Delivers Narrative-Busting Interview

March 7, 2023 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

Tucker Carlson is not wilting in the face of Democrats losing their mind over his Jan. 6 video coverage.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer even tried to go after him, by calling on Rupert Murdoch to stop the Jan. 6 coverage. Can we say panicked? It sure looks like it.

But it doesn’t look like Murdoch or Carlson are folding on the issue. Carlson was back with more coverage on Tuesday evening and not only wasn’t he stopping, but he was also laughing at the panic of the Democrats and the media who were losing total control of the narrative. “What you’re hearing is panic and fear,” Carlson said. “A hurt dog barks. But it’s still pretty funny.” When you have Ken Burns’ mania claiming Tucker was being both Nazi and Soviet, you know they’re truly losing it.

But Carlson went on to respond to Schumer’s threats against Fox, calling to shut Carlson down. Chuck Schumer said that letting people see the truth — the video of what happened — was a “threat to democracy.” Anything that threatens the Democratic narrative must be “squelched,” Carlson said.

Tucker Carlson on the reaction from Democrats like Chuck Schumer to the previously unseen January 6 footage:

“What you’re seeing is hysteria … It’s not outrage, of course. It’s fear, it’s panic.” pic.twitter.com/gvOZvGLutY

— The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) March 8, 2023

Schumer doesn’t care about the bizarre contradiction of claiming he’s fighting for democracy while trying to suppress speech. Those videos are causing “hysteria,” Tucker said because they’re a threat to that narrative that Schumer and the Democrats have been peddling for more than two years. What were they trying to protect with these lies? Carlson asked.

Tucker also wryly noted that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke out against his coverage which went to prove they were “on the same side,” he said.

Additionally, Tucker did a fascinating interview with Tarik Johnson, the former Capitol Police lieutenant who was in charge of securing the safety of the senators that day. Johnson said that they had not been properly prepared or informed about what might happen that day. He said that when hundreds of people started flooding into the building, he called for help from his supervisors as to what to do, but no one responded, so he decided to evacuate the senators on his own.

— Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) March 8, 2023

But he wasn’t rewarded for that initiative to secure the safety of the senators. He later was suspended. Why? Because he wore a Trump hat to help him make it through the crowd to get to other officers that he thought were in trouble and he got help from the Oathkeepers, something else that would fly against the narrative. Johnson heroically went through the crowd and got his comrades out with that intelligent move, as I’ve previously reported. He ended up resigning and losing his pension after serving 22 years.

Meanwhile, Yogananda Pittman, who didn’t respond to Johnson’s desperate calls, was elevated to acting head of the Capitol Police and then got a cushy job in California as the head of the security at UC Berkeley, near Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). She said her department “saved democracy” on Jan. 6.

Despite Johnson’s knowledge and position that day, he was never called to testify by the Jan. 6 Committee.

“I prayed almost daily that they would get to me,” he said. “I was never asked by anybody connected to the January 6 Committee to testify. I ask myself why every day.” He said they focused on Donald Trump, and not on the failures of the Capitol Police.

Panic in D.C.: Garland Tells Whopper of a Lie, Proving Why Tucker’s J6 Coverage Was So Important

March 7, 2023 by Nick Arama Leave a Comment

We’ve been seeing quite a lot of panic in D.C. with all kinds of freakouts in reaction to Tucker Carlson’s Jan. 6 video coverage.

Adam Kinzinger has been melting down all day, even going on CNN, then getting schooled by former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer lost his mind on the Senate floor and was flipping out so much, he’s demanding that Fox head Rupert Murdoch stop Tucker Carlson from going on with more Jan. 6 coverage.

Nothing says “saving democracy” by trying to stop the speech of your political opponents.

Schumer out and out lied on the Senate floor — claiming that Carlson said Jan. 6 was not violent. Carlson said no such thing. He said that while there was violence, there were other protesters inside the Capitol who were not violent. Schumer is the one lying because he doesn’t want that basic truth to be told.

This isn’t the first time that Schumer has gone after Fox and tried to suppress speech. I wrote just last week about how Chuck Schumer had threatened Fox, saying he not only had a “right to tell Rupert Murdoch and Fox what to do but an obligation.” He said “democracy was at greater risk than it’s ever been,” that Fox must admit they told “lies” or he will take other “steps.”

I don’t disagree with him that “democracy” and our freedoms are at risk — from Schumer threatening them himself.

They are truly panicking that the narrative is becoming unhinged when it comes to Jan. 6, that people are seeing that there are other takes, apart from the cherry-picked narrative of the Jan. 6 Committee and the Democrats which was all about using the riot to attack former President Donald Trump and affect the midterms. Among the people the show reached was Twitter head Elon Musk, he saw the points being made.

But while Schumer and Kinzinger were certainly deplorable with their remarks on the day, it may be Attorney General Merrick Garland who had the worst lie. He was asked by a reporter during a press briefing what he thought about Carlson’s coverage. Listen, as even now, Garland lies. He talks about officers assaulted on “that day” and then says, “Five officers died.”

Merrick Garland just lied by stating 5 officers died because Jan. 6. pic.twitter.com/2Mcn2fyznN

— ⚜ • 𝕸𝖎𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖊𝖑 • ⚜ (@BasedSolutions1) March 7, 2023

No officers died that day. The only person “killed” that day was Ashli Babbitt who was shot by a Capitol Police officer. Now multiple police officers committed suicide in the subsequent months. That might raise other questions as to why that might be. But it’s a lie, and grossly misleading to say that they were killed or that they died that day.

But this is just an example of why Tucker Carlson’s Jan. 6 coverage was so important. Dems and media have been lying about this specific point since the beginning, as Carlson noted, to make the riot worse, to add “deadly” to it. That’s why this lie is so disgusting, yet even now, it’s continuing, proving Tucker’s point. The Democrats don’t care about honesty or the facts, just that narrative.

Democrats Go Ballistic and Call for Tucker Carlson to Be Forcibly Removed From Air

March 7, 2023 by Bonchie Leave a Comment

You can tell Tucker Carlson is over the target based simply on the hysterical reactions he’s gotten over the last 24 hours. That’s the story after the Fox News host began to release January 6th surveillance footage on Monday evening.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy gave Carlson access to the footage after Democrats fought for years to keep it under lock and key. Now, we are finding out that many of the narratives spun by the January 6th committee and others were at best misleading and at worst outright false.

RedState has already reported on that extensively on those revelations (click here, here, and here), and apparently, Democrats aren’t a fan of the transparency. After railing on the Senate floor, Chuck Schumer went to the press to demand that Carlson be forcibly removed from the air.

Schumer: “Rupert Murdoch has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight [and] from letting him go on again and again and again [because] our democracy depends on it.” pic.twitter.com/uld6eaCl3C

— Greg Price (@greg_price11) March 7, 2023

For starters, it seems rather fascist (or communistic, if you prefer) to have a politician making that kind of demand. A special obligation? Really? Because Carlson released some surveillance footage that Schumer desperately wanted to hide?

It’s an insane and totalitarian position to take. It’s also incredibly hypocritical given Democrats spend every waking moment decrying the coming end of “democracy.” Do you know what ends democracy? Politicians trying to get television hosts kicked off the air for saying stuff they don’t like.

Ask yourself this. What are Schumer and his cohorts so afraid of? Carlson is simply releasing footage that they themselves refused to release. Nancy Pelosi could have let the public see all of it from the get-go. No one made the January 6th committee selectively edit and obfuscate the truth. They chose to do that because they wanted to push a very specific narrative, and they chose to cover up any inconvenient facts for posterity.

That’s what this comes down to. Schumer is afraid of the truth. He’s afraid that his neatly packaged “insurrection” narrative will be blown up by reality, a reality that he fought so hard to hide.
